Chapter 1
Dreadful and restless dreams hunts me,
In my dreams a fair Elven maiden shows me visions about fire and hardship on the Hobbit folk in Tuckborough.
I shared my dark omens to my friend Astrantinella,
In some of my dreams Hobbit folk perish and Tuckborough has been destroyed in Fire and ash… but there is also a dream that The Tooks take up arms and fight of the Brigands, and free themselves out of their shackles.
(( we start the instance Trouble in Tuckborough))
When I finished my tale, my mind was at ease.
But I had one more favor to ask my dear friend.
I had heard reports from the Bounders in Tuckborough that wildlife is aggressive and word is about Walking trees..
We both think that the last one is a bit far fetch, and that the bounders are spooked of their own shadows, or that they have muddled their wits on to much mugs of ale.
At any rate we ventured both into the old forest.
I still wonder why I take up a job as volunteer Bounder.
(( will not be the last time I think of that)).
Astrantinella is fearless and a Bold Hobbit lass, always eager to go for adventure, and I’m very impressed of her skill in moving silently.
Sometimes even I can not spot her, some folk may call her a burglar.
Comes in handy perhaps that sneaking around, but Astrantinella is a honest and hardworking lass, and this time she surprises me with her pet dog Earl Grey.
And Grey is also like her owner, Fierce and Bold, A guard dog to be reckon with. I’m glad the dog accompany us in the Forest.
The old forest is not a place for a pleasant stroll.
Its dark damp and Cold,
also peering eyes everywhere.
We had to fight of some wolves, and Grey the hound give chase too,
(( although more of its own tail))
After some crossings of dark rivers, we came to a cliff, lucky we got some rope to get to the bottom.
Alas the rope broke of mine
(( perhaps the weight of my belly has something to do with it, who knows?))
But I landed save on my own bottom
We ventured further till we found a Spiders Nest, those spiders did not had a change, my Arrow bolts reach their mark, the dagger of Astrantinella hit them from dark places, and Earl.. well Earl stood and watch but his look was fierce and might scare some of the spiders for sure.
It was very wary but, we reach the hearth of the Nest and slay the biggest Spider I saw, the Queen perish too, but then the Ground Shakes, and I could not believe it but there was a Walking tree.
Like those tales of Old, it was aggressive and was ready to attack us..
I took my Torch lit it on, and with some oils on my bolts lit fire on the Tree. Astrantinella run forward and hacked on its roots.
The tree fell with a crash.
And Earl Grey peed on the tree for good measure I guess.
Our Adventure was at a end, and we made it safely to a Homely cottage in the woods. It is the House of Mater Tom Bombadil
A cheerful fellow full of nonsense and song, but a true friend of Hobbit folk.
He served us a dinner and we took our rest for the evening.
And Grey the hound was gnarling on a bone…
