Faethuil's Journal: Entry II

I have received my mother's letter from the battlefield. Curses! I should have been there as I promised her. I have failed as her heir. I suspect she is gone forever now and I will never have any chance of telling her so many things we never caught up on. Fornelen can not find out about this. I know that was a bad thing to do but I stole the letter meant to her. She will never forgive me but it is for her own good. As we talked, I told her that she will need to take on my duties in Forochel, as I will now have to depart for Gondor. Whatever happens... it is all my fault. We have been rejected and I am able to handle it alone, but Fornelen.. I just hope she will be alright. I don't think I will continue this journal after reaching Gondor but time will show...
