Moving on

I will try to accurately document here yet again of what has happened in the meantime since my last diary entry. I may digress slightly within this journal as I believe I may have omitted some minor detail last time.

Cristran had visited my home the next day so that I could check that he was healing adequately after our encounter in the Old Forest.   I quietly marvelled at just how quickly he was healing, he had suffered this malady for far longer than I would believe any mortal could and he was healing at a hugely accelerated rate.

Crist had suggested we travel to Rivendell to ask the Elves about the blooms that seem to thrive in the darkest and most sinister environments.  We discussed the possibilities of the plant, it's likely 'magick' or gifts it could bring and the hope that we both held that it could be key to a cure for the evil that appears to be spreading in the Bree area.  He told me his father once had a companion in an Elf, much experienced in such things as herbalism, crystal healing and most things linked to healing in general, his knowledge allegedly unsurpassed.  I couldn't contain my excitement of the prospect and to my embarrassment I'm sure he could tell.

Crist had bought a bottle of fine wine, a gift from his father and a beautiful orchid that his mother had nurtured herself. These were in thanks for helping their beloved son to heal.  I offered him food as I had some prepared and he accepted, we ate and drank the wine which was delicious.  Afterwards we made our plans and discussed at length our best route to the Trollshaws and various aspects of safety.  The first leg of our journey would be a gruelling ride to the Foresaken Inn in the Lonelands.  I've never ventured far from Bree and I feel ambiguous about the whole thing, but I'm going because firstly; I need to find out whether these blooms hold the secret to healing the evil that is spreading and secondly, if they will honour us with their wisdom I will meet the Elves of Rivendell.

As an aside, I find myself glancing at Crist now and again and it seems that whenever I surreptitiously chance to gaze upon him, he is glancing quickly away.  Could he be looking at me?  I do hope so, I haven't found a man attractive since I ended my betrothal to Wylam, that man shattered my dreams and I have felt broken since then.  I don't want my heart shattered again though, if he does like me then I shall proceed with caution, though he seems a good sort and is hugely attractive which is an added bonus.

The very next day we began our adventure, panniers packed tight with anything we could think of likely to be needed.  The bloom safely packed in oilcloth having been submerged in water. I will put it into a vessel of water when we arrive at the Foresaken Inn, It is vital I keep it alive.
