At the "Moon Cheese" festival

I always enjoy being able to attend musical performances, as they are a happy diversion from the more serious errands and missions that many of us are tasked with in our daily lives.

With the "Moon Cheese" Space Music Festival, there was also the chance to ponder the moon, stars and other objects that we see in the sky and take time to appreciate them. So often, we are focussed on our work here that we do not take the time to look up at the celestial bodies as they whirl in their patterns across our sky. They provide us with points of light in the darkness, on a practical level, helping us to navigate our way whether we travel by land or sea. but they also provide us with reminders of past Ages as we consider where they came from, and how they helped shape our world.

As for the event itself, it was very well-attended. The eight bands played a variety of music, some up-tempo and joyous, while other pieces were more contemplative in nature, as befits such a grand subject as the vastness of space. There was plenty of dancing, meetings of friends - including reunions of people who appeared not to have seen each other for a long time. There were fireworks of many colours, brightening up the sky even further - as well as providing a fun way to show our approval of the best-loved songs.

And we each received a curious souvenir. A piece of cheese, allegedly sampled from the Moon itself.

I have heard of heroes performing many great deeds, both in my own time and back through the Ages, but I have not heard of anyone finding a way to scale the vast distance up to the Moon. Of course, I have not yet visited all the lands of our world, so perhaps somewhere in a distant land, there may well be someone who has managed such a wondrous feat.

Equally, consuming cheese is known to give one very vivid dreams, so it may be that a cheese-loving hobbit only dreamed it.

Either way, it was a fun festival and I am glad I had the time to attend.
