On the evening the day Odo Hayward had died, Thadirin visited the former mercenary settlement of the Bloody Dawn, Towerglan, where the Ashdown family resided. He managed to tell Mr. Ashdown of the news, that Wisterhya was widowed and was met by stern disappointment. His wounds were tended to by Mrs. Ashdown, who he was keen to call 'The Beorning Witch'. After an hour's time, he left with a dulling numbness from three pints of ale, a poultice and a vial of pain relief.
