Finally she left her woodlands behind, and stepped into the plains that laid beyond. And quick was her march across the fields and hills, for she wished to leave the southern parts of the forest far behind, and risk not alerting whatever foul creatures roamed it. Though her journey had already started for days numbered five, it was here that she felt at long last to be stepping outside of the world she lived in.
The Great River, Anduin by name, still laid in front of her, and not far from where she stood, upon its eastern back, was that the river Limlîht joining in dance its greater cousin. For a while she pondered, of wether to try crossing before the two unite, or head further south, along the banks and cross as soon as the option arose. She knew little at the time, of the lands of Men, though she remembered that the lands of the Horse Lords were not far beyond and that Men of East often found their dwelling in those lands as well. Untrustful of them, found the sounder plan to cross before the two rivers met, then continue along the banks of Limlîht into the west, from whence it springs.
Looking for a place where the river is easiest to cross, and deemed not very deep, she took much of her equipment off and placed it carefully in a bag which she then sealed off as best she could, and strapped it on her back, tightening it so it wouldn't come off. She remained in her under clothes, a pair of fabrics that though it would not shield her from the cold waters of the river, entirely, it would stave off the cold at least a little bit.
She crossed the river, slowly and with much care, as she wished not to be taken by the current. Though at first, the water did not raise far above waist, soon she found her feet unable to touch the ground. The river's current pulled her a couple of times and so she swam calmly either along the banks and when it permitted in an angle, to escape it.
It was good that she picked such a favorable place for the crossing, as her swimming skill, though acceptable, was still lacking in terms of stamina handling. But with all said and done, she found herself on the other side all drenched up in cold water.
A fire was to be made, and one that would not stir the attention of unwanted fellows....
