Reflecting while in bed rest

Thorbeck grunted as he tried to lift himself upright. His back was seriously injured from the fight with the dragon. He exhaled, looking to his right at the medicine that was left for him. He grumbled a bit and layed down with a wince, "Damn it all. Couldn't leave me an ale.". The Dwarf turned his gaze to his beaten up armor and sword in the corner of the room. He thought in his mind "What it I can't fight as well anymore?" He shakes his head "Yeah right, this won't stop me." He says out loud. Since coming to Bree all those years ago, he has felt the most like himself then ever before. He thought back to his smashing of barrels and landing in jail, his illegal fight club and joining the steel. He smiles "Good times." He thought. A younger him never would of thought his best friends would be men and he'd even fight alongside Elves.

Thorbeck's mind drifted to all his battles while in the army of Erebor and his close calls. He fought for his people and freedom but now in this moment he truly realizes that there was more he was fighting for. He was fight for the Steel, for his friends and for this small town that welcomed him. He couldn't let these injuries hold him back, he still had to fight. He smiles at the ceiling "I'm Thorbeck Bladebeard." He mutters to himself. The Dwarf was adamant that he will keep on pushing. His mind then went back to all his adventures as he fell asleep.
