Dawning

Her voice sings, her fingers caress the harp, a song of a Kiss On The Nose fills me and I dance afloat around her, a perfect orbit, then spiraling to Her, the harp drifts away as Her hands rest on my shoulders and She softly kisses the end of my nose….

“Awake, husband-mine. The Sun is rising – come watch it with me”.

Cutch slid up from slumber to see Seregrian, barefoot and clad in a favored crimson dressing gown, Her face just pulling away from a kiss on his nose.

“My lovely wife” he replied, then drew in long a luxurious breath. She silently beckoned him with outstretched hand and warm smile to rise to Her. He nodded sleepily, grinning at Her, happy fool that he was for Her. He slid back the bed covers and looked about for where his night clothes had been absently tossed the night before, but his cozily dazed senses could not find them. She lifted them from the floor and held them out just outside of his reach.

“Must I put them back on you, too, dear one?”, she asked, coy innocence punctuating a smirk. With an unabashed smile spreading irresistibly across his face, he hesitated before answering, playing at indecisiveness. She laughed and stepped close, pressing his night wear against his chest, and planting another kiss on his nose.

“Quick, melethil, clothe yourself and find me by the river.” She turned toward the door to the Sanctum and cast an alluring glance at him as she left the bed chamber. She let the door swing slowly open, leaving him to hurriedly stumble into his bed clothes, grinning after Her.

He trotted down the stairs to the manor’s front room, where the door to the outer yard stood open, an invitation. Closing it behind him as he followed, he watched Her sauntering with arms spread out, gliding slowly and happily towards the riverbank, drinking in the early morning. Her obvious joy filled his heart, as She often did in so many other ways, and he sprinted to Her just as the first light of the rising sun touched Her stunning, upturned face. Standing behind Her, he wrapped his arms around Her waist and leaned a cheek against Her temple. She nestled back against him. Transfixed, they watched the sun gaze down on them for the first time as husband and wife. Birds sang, river waters sighed, their breathing slowed and deepened.

“Good morning, husband”, she murmured.

“Yes, it is. The best one so far in my life, for it is the first one with you as my wife.”

“And for me, as well.” Without shifting Her gaze, Her hand found his at Her waist and held it.

After long moments in this particularly captivating serenity, he asked, in low and husky tones, “Would my lover care for a swim?”

“I would”, She answered in a sultry whisper, deftly shedding Her robe, and leading him by the hand to the waters edge. She paused for him to remove and fold his bed clothes neatly and lay them upon Her robe.

Taking each other’s hand, they strolled into the calm waters behind the breakwater. As the wavelets reached Her hips, She slipped Her hand out of his and gracefully dove in, turned, and surfaced treading water effortlessly, waiting for him to join Her.

Mesmerized by Her glistening beauty, he walked in, his gaze on Her unblinking until his feet could not find the bottom, and then he pulled himself out to Her with stroking arms. They embraced, and while holding a passionate kiss, dipped beneath the surface.

And thus, did they plunge into the rest of their tomorrows together.
