Expedition part 1: From Thorins Hall to Needlehole

And so it began. The great expedition towards Erebor!

As I am known as the Captain of the Paperworks, it became my duty to keep track of our progressions as we went along. So here is the report of the first day of our expedition.

It was a cold Thursday in September that we gathered all with backpacks and packed horses at Frerin's Court. Making sure that we didn't forget anything! After long long checklist that have been verified we took off. Passing Noglond to end up in Gondamon finding out it was under siege by Dourhands and Goblins! Darn Cowards! We arrived just in time to fight of the enemy troups and to secure the stronghold.

We refilled our stocks of arrows, bandaged some small wounds. Nothing seriously however and then we went on with the expedition. Crossing the river below Dullond we were heading towards the edges of the Shire. Not much remarkable happened except the encounter of some lonesome adventurers. Till we almost arrived in Needlehole. After feeding our horses we went on to cross the bridges towards Needlehole when suddenly we were stopped by a small hobbit, named Apri it seems.

She seemed to be in a worrysome state as her friend hasn't returned from the Bog and fears that she might have been captured by Dourhands. Again these cursed ... ! No I refuse to call them dwarves as they don't deserve to be compared with us!

As we are proud members of the Regiment and we heared that Dourhands were involved we immediately offered our support and send out some scouts to find the Dourhands their camp. Once found we prepared the weapons, left the horses behind in Needlehole and charged the camp. Needless to say that we overwhelmed these cowardly Dourhands and we managed to find and set free the missing hobbit named Dassa. Luckily she was still unharmed.

Afterwards we went back to Needlehole and we decided to have a rest in this small township in a decent bed as we were tired from the long hike and the battle. And we also had to celebrate our victory on the Dourhands.

So hereby I conclude our first part of the expedition towards Erebor. Still a long way to go!
