The ground shook and the stormclouds above cast their lighting and thunder through out the land. Nalkoha watched as her army of warriors and beasts stretched between the two mountain ranges that guards Malenhad. Several thousand warriors was under her command and that number was only the mortal men and women. Slowly but steady she could see the small force of Azgarzirs elite guard marching towards her battleline. This would without doubt be the last she saw of her cousin, if her army proved worhty enough. Azgarzirs force formed battle formations and slowly turned into a halt. In their midst the warlord himslef sat upon his great steed and barked out orders around him.
Nalokha smiled and looked down upon him from her postion on the hill. Her cousin was dressed in his battle armour and the great sword in his hand seemed somewhat familliar. With a laughter she ordered her army forth to crush her opponent and with a great roar that made the very air tremble both warrior and beast surged forward. The battle that followed was fiece and bloody as the skill of Azgarzirs elite guards was more tehn enough to deal with the rabbel and un trained warriors of Nalokha. Slowly the small force cut their way through rank upon rank of enemies and as Nalokha saw that her cousin would soon be upon her she raised her hands to the sky and with dark words of power she called upon the might of the heavens.
Great lighting bolts struck the ground and burnt both friend and foe alike. Seeing that this was not enough to stop Azgarzirs advance she took a few steps back. Where ever Azgarzir striked with his sword man and beast fell, he had now made his way through the battling armies and stood face to face iwth his cousin. Nalokha summoned a shadowy shiled on her arm, a black mist twirled around her body and the heavens above raged with storm and thunder. THen all of a sudden a horn sounded in the distnat and the shimmering form of knights charging into the battlning armies caught her attention. The Defenders had seen their chance to rid the world of two great evils at once. Nalokha screamed in anger and a such great wargs and wolves cast themselves upon the knights, trying their best to slow their advance.
Azgarzir seemed somewhat puzzled and paused for a moment, he turned and laughed as he saw the free people of the south.
"Cousin, it appears that we have got some visitors who would like to join the carnage!" Nalokha did not move as Azgarzir spoke.
"This army needs a true leader cousin or both you and I will fall."
Nalokha nodded and there in the middle of the carnage a silent pact was forged. Azgarzir shouted out orders and the whole army responded with a great roar of hate. The Defenders and their allies now fought bitterly and hard, but for all their skill they were slolwy driven back. Many brave knights fell to the wargs and beasts, and their numbers decreased for every minute they were engaged in battle. Slowly the two armies of THe Heirs of Ruin begun to encircle their common threat. The ground begun to quake underneath and great chasms opened beneath the defenders, casting a great number of their allies to their doom.
With the dark arts of Nalokha and the great battle skills of Azgarzir the anmgarim armies drove the Defenders back, routed them and slew all stragglers. All the way to Aughaire did they pursue their hated foe and there Azgarzir prepared for a siege of the town. Great warmachines hurled stones and fire at the gates and houses of the town. When the town was ablaze the heirs ordered their armies to attack and as a great wave of destruction they threw themselves at the city. The gates were blasted opne by the foul sorcery of Nalokha and Azgarzir himself took great joy in slaying both women and children as the town was taken.
Those of the defenders that tried to halt the heris advance was cut down or they turned and fled. It was a salughter and to this day the screams of the dying echoes in the mountains surrounding the once proud town.
