Fréasburg *((See OOC Note))
((This is primarily a social, open-rp event, with the opportunity to join in or invite others to different happenings and storylines around Rohan. Everyone is welcome.))
Once a month, travelers from the West-March to the East Fold journey to join the locals at the Hold's Faire at Fréasburg. Merchants, players' troupes, storytellers, and more gather to sell their wares, tell their tales, and hear the King's news.
In the mid-afternoon, the Hold Cry is held, the King's orders are handed down, and any pressing business is opened up to the talk of the townsfolk. It is a time to learn more about the greater world outside Fréasburg's fortified walls and the chance to decide what can be done about it.
Fréasburg is a fictional city represented by Stangard in-game. It was created to give a place for RPers who play in both the Third and Fourth Age to RP together without breaking immersion or compromising on either game or book canon. References to "the King" can be interpreted as either Eomer or Theoden, depending on your character's place in the story. The town is across the river and not far from a Dunlending settlement, and some of their kind can be seen attending the Faire.
Currently, the merchants, players, and bards are all NPC's, but if you would like to set up your own shop, perform, or stage anything else, we would love to see it.
Stangard (the stand-in for Fréasburg) can be reached from the South Gate of Bree by low-levels for 1MC. The only danger is the vengeful Training Dummy on the far Southeast side of the first level. Do not pass the fountain unless you want to enrage it and be one-shotted.
