Farewell

Dryn watched from the harbor as his companions had boarded the ships. It was bittersweet to him. He knew that it was for the best. However, it was still bittersweet because he had to say goodbye. It had reminded him of saying goodbye to Ghost, knowing that it was the last time the man would ever see him.

Nartari, Morohir's wife, had sketched Morohir, Dryn, Feridae, Aranglin, and Fenris as they had spoken. Those who had been departing kept the sketch upon Dryn's request. As for Dryn, he had told them that memories of them were good enough. And he was right. All of the time with them was precious, every laugh, every smile… As long as he had those thoughts and memories, he'd always remember them.

"Now, Dryn, don't you forget…" Morohir spoke after seeing the others boarding the ship. "You may have been born as a Fenflower, may have been an Umaarah, but in the end, you are still yourself. Do not lose that about you. Do not lose your heart and way even when things turn for the worst."

"I won't…" Dryn glanced up at him. "I'll do my best to keep trying to protect the ones I care about."

"Good." Morohir looked up in thought before chuckling, looking at Dryn. "And do try to stop looking as if you are brooding all the time. You might find yourself a soulmate."

Dryn's mouth opened to argue but no words came from it.  All his life, even now, he thought of himself as doomed. Doomed to have a fate of loneliness, but he couldn't tell Morohir that.

The young man watched as Morohir waved before boarding the ship. Dryn could only move a hand to wave back as he watched the ship leave, leaving the dock, leaving him… A small bit of him wanted to go as well but the larger part of him knew that he had to stay behind. He still had a role to do in Middle-earth. There were people who were waiting for him back where he thought of as home. He mounted the horse he had bought to use for a temporary time before making his way back to Bree-land with Fenris.

((Author's Note: And that's basically all for Dryn. I didn't want to spam all in one day so thanks for your patience! This one in particular had hit hard for me just as much as some of my other projects. Not to mention this one song had played while I had typed it out. Anywho, I'll be doing posts eventually for another character, hopefully sooner rather than later. I've both digital and physical projects to do and I'm gradually going through them. ^^; Thanks again for the patience!))
