Middle of Sutcroft on the open plains, far from the farms behind a small knoll in the landscape sits Baldead with fellow riders. Being tasked with the patrol of the region, being the ever watchmen of the East mark, in Croft.
Horses standing behind them, grassing as some rolls out their bedrolls, others making a campfire. Having some of a young Sperewigends with, Baldead found himself being senior of the current group. Helping the others, looking at the stars, explaining slightly which and how to find the correct heading.
A rider ask of him, how it was being back in the Croft. Baldead huffs a rugged chuckle, looking at them as he makes way to the fire crouching down, extending his hands towards the flames. “Lovely.. Finally being home, more so my spouse being here as well. Despite our task coming from the Wold and beyond. This is better.”
The riders grins as they look at each others. They start to talk among each others, where Baldead holds himself bit back. Taking in the riders and the different topic they passes, slowly and quiet he breaks away from them climbing up the small knoll which shelters them from the wind across the plains, wrapping himself with his green cloak he takes a seat in the grass moving his hand across the strays getting a feeling of the earth beneath him. He shifts the gaze up onto the stars and the moon. “Few more days, and I’m home love, just a few more.. days my sweet Eirveth.”
After sitting for a while he walked down the small knoll, looking at the others informing them as he readies Garwulf, his steed. That he had to start making way to Hytbold, giving the lead to one of the others. They have to continue and return to Snowbourn within a fornite with a report. He pulled himself up and bid them all farewell, vanishing into the night.
At Foredawn, Baldead arrives to the gates of Hytbold or what remains of the mighty palisades which once stood high. Peering at the rubble and charred remains, spotting two Ladies in green clothes standing on the path. Bit skeptic of the rider, figuring him for a thief in the night. They got introduced and slowly made their way towards Snowbourn, these were indeed some whom were left in Hytbold, Refugee’s. Along the way they encountered a Messenger from his way from Stangard to Snowbourn, asking for aid to ensure the safety of the survivors. He agreed helping them on their trip to the safety of the white walls of Snowbourn.
