After the kinslaying at Menegroth, we had grown sorrowful, and we had begin to wonder if even Gondolin will be destroyed, for Gondolin, was yes a fortified and protected City, but the spies and allies of Morgoth grew; for which it was mostly of Men of the east, or vile servants that have served him. With an interesting surprise, Maeglin, son of Eol the Dark Elf, had betrayed us, somehow gaining the allegiance and loyalty to Morgoth, and took upon himself to betray King Turgon and the people of Gondolin, which fills my heart with fear and dread.
It was on the evening of Ennyn Laer, while I and Alimaenda and our children had went to watch the sun rise, yet it was not which the sun had risen, for cries of Orcs, howls of Wargs and Wolves had given us more dread then hope. A war-council had took place as some of the enemy had attempted to scale the walls, yet they failed. Alas, a Balrog of great manner alongside siege machines, had broken the North gate and walls. Several hordes of Orcs poured in like wine going in a cup. Alimaenda made sure our beloved children were safe, while I had went among the Guards, attempting to cut down the Orc horde down to a point that which we could rebuild Gondolin, but sadly I was wrong.
Even more dread had came into my heart as I heard that a new host of Morgoth descended upon the Western wall, some of the protectors had been cutting down anything that had attempted to go through there, but the Dragons had came.
I had went with Alimaenda, Varni, and Hrai to the tower of the king from which King Turgon had made the destruction of the city known through-out all the hearts of us, but did he also Make Lord Tuor king, from which he had asked us to get out of the city. King Tuor had informed us of the secret tunnel Idril had made, and swift were we, and moving beneath the city while it was in the process of destruction.
Eventually, the refugees(which had now included the House of Melethon) had came to Nan-Tathren, the Land of Willows. For a short time did we rest and heal there, even having a feast to commemorate the memory of Gondolin, and it gave us hope. Then we came upon the Mouths of Sirion, and had met with the company of Elwing.
