Lisca’s acceptance into the Leutha Maethor
The warband leader Elisbeth had sent word out from Imladris to all of the Leutha Maethor to gather at the Haven of Orladion at the appointed day and time to see the young Lisca take her vow and be accepted into their ranks.
And so it was that the members made their way through the Gates of Imladris down the hilltop towards the eastern side of the valley. Khalis saw them first as he made his way down from attending the gathering in the Hall of Fire in Lord Elronds house, he eyes searching for the reactions upon their faces as they beheld the wonderful sight of Imladris, their home. Then Khalis’ eyes fell upon the new member to the band, the one with the birth name Helegion. Khalis did not know much about Helegion but it was obvious from first their first meeting that her carried himself with a certain quiet confidence. Since his early days he had been settling in well as one of the Neth Migel (New Swords).
As the band gathered gentle greetings and banter could be heard from the members as they greeted one another and exchanged a few words. The Officers at this stage were simply waiting and watching with almost a silent foreboding. Elisbeth once again noticed the way Tzel seemed to quickly form bonds with the new members to the Warband, he was a popular member of the band and thus held in high regard by the Officers for this unique quality and his skill with his bow and sword. Then the voice of Elisbeth rang out around the chamber bringing their attention to the proceedings. She spoke in gentle tones to those assembled offering words of encouragement and thanks to those members who had been recently helping the rangers in their ever growing struggle.
Khalis then beckoned the young Lisca forward so the ceremony could begin. He spoke of what it is to be accepted into the ranks of the Leutha Maethor from the Neth Megil and also of the responsibilities and respect that it brings.
Elisbeth spoke of the trials Lisca had been set as one of the Neth Megil and of her strong determination which had enabled her to complete them sooner than expected. More so because Lisca is not a warrior, she is a scholar with an adventurous spirit.
The assembled were reminded though that it is the design of some things that a group must be assembled to ease the burden and ensure success. Khalis respoke the words by which the warband lived their lives.
“ Stand together as kin or fall solitary into shadow “
Taking a single step towards Lisca, Khalis then took the Oath from Lisca. He could see for the first time a sense of nervousness about her and as she echoed the words spoken by Khalis he noted the small wounds upon her flesh, proof of the cost of completing her trials. This woman hid some remarkable qualities not often seen in her kind he noted mentally.
With the Oath given those assembled echoed the final line of the Oath in acceptance, and the air immediately took on a less solemn nature. Now came the part the Officers enjoyed, that of bestowing the gifts of the Warband upon Lisca. Each in turn came before Lisca offering their own personal congratulations and laid before her their gifts. For it was the ethos of the warband to have the members of the Leutha Maethor equipped with the best Imladris could provide for anything less would prove their undoing in that critical situation.
Lisca seemed a little over awed by the gifts but the officers and the other Leutha Maethor assembled knew they were well earned and also in the future her skills would be truly tested.
But now the evening was for thoughts of a more lighter nature for another of the Neth Megil had been reborn, and thus another Leutha Maethor had come to the band.
