Day 460
We have explored much of the land around the town and settlements. It is a beautiful land and the ancient structures still sit across the land. Once great and powerful structures now only simple ruins as a reminder of the past, mystery to many.
The marshes we passed have an eerie air of dread that hangs over them, we did not venture these lands. Past the marshes there is woodland and we took time to explore.
As we stepped through it there was something that did not feel right and it was not long until we found its cause. A slaughtered campsite.
The men and women we found wore poor clothing and little remained for the camp. We guessed that these were once a group of brigands seeking shelter in these woods who met with this terrible end. Murdered and left for the scavengers to feast on. I did not think I would come across such a tainted sight in these lands.
We buried the fallen we found and it took up our day. We gave them our prayers and blessing so that they may have a better life in their new one, hopefully they shall not suffer such a cruel and foul end again.
Tired my companion returned to rest and I meanwhile took to Bree again. It was at a late hour and so few were in the streets and less in the famous tavern they visit.
However it seems I walked in on two women that had some conflict. One sat on the floor and the other gloated. I do not know what happened prior to my arrival but I offered my assistance to the young one on the floor. My aid went unnoticed.
The woman that the other named a brute came back from the counter soon after with a tankard to dump over the young woman's head, fueling her fury. Little mind was paid to me as I tried to offer my aid still.
The younger one grabbed to her dagger and my hand was slapped away as I tried to hinder her from finishing her thought, her dagger found the woman's foot.
I rose to try and calm the situation and it seems it may have worked. The two soon turned their anger towards me, for what reason I do not know. Making me their common enemy seemed to turn their mood on each other. If making me such has brought them together in peace then I will welcome it. Last I saw of them the pair aided one and other to see the healers.
I can only hope that they made it in one piece.
We have finished our gift and now we must find time to give it. I have learned more of the land of Shire and soon we shall begin our journey there.
*An image is painted on the bottom of the parchment. There is an attempt of using new tools and the means of water to create the drawing, a test maybe (image is made by me)*
