Dryn had found himself in an open field before looking around with his light-green eyes. He did not know where he was or if there was any landmarks that he could use to his advantage to tell him where he was at. Not only that but there wasn't even any sign of life around him, including Ghost. Confused and unsettled, he took a step forward before being surrounded by silhouettes.
"If it were not for you, we would still be alive." said a womanly voice.
Dryn recognized the voice as being his mother. The silhouettes then turned into gravestones, three to be exact. He remembered them as being the gravestones of his parents as well as Agreis's.
"It wasn't my fault!" exclaimed Dryn. "It was because of others! I wish... I wish I was there to be of more help than I was."
"And now here you are, trying to protect the girl," came his father's voice. "It has been such a long while now. What if you were too late? Knowing your luck, she's already dead."
"If anything happens to me and I don't...return, keep the change and enjoy life. It's too short to put yourself in danger needlessly."
Dryn watched as another gravestone had faded in front of him. Reading the name, his eyes widened.
"NO!" shouted Dryn. "I'm not going to lose anyone else!"
He reached out to grab the gravestone but three pairs of arms grabbed hold of him, making him scream.

Dryn sat up on the makeshift bed that he had made for himself suddenly, breathing heavily. His exposed chest and face had cold sweat. He reached out to touch the necklace around his neck before letting out a relieved sigh, knowing fully well that he wasn't in his nightmare anymore. He heard Ghost giving out a concern whine before scratching behind the wolf's ears.
"Don't worry, Ghost," muttered Dryn. "We're not going to give up."
As much as he would want to believe that, his heart had still pounded hard within his chest.
