Belodin's Diary: A hardwon victory.

162 D.U.D.D

Not a day goes by with out missing you m'dear Brulda.

The Battle of the Blathorian Pass.

The first great battle between the Dwarven host and the Goblin infestation has been fought. Two armies near the Ground-keep of Thulmadrin. A mighty sight to behold. Ranks and ranks of Dwarven warriors prepared to give it their last to stop the legions of hell marching freely in the mountains. I, along with my company were standing in the middle of the first line.

The roars of my kinsmen rang through the vale, the voices in ancient tongue echoed through the whole of Ered-Luin. But all voices where silent when the horn of Núlm sounded. CHARGE! Was the order, the first line existing out of fifteen half-companies charged into the hordes of hell.

Orc after Orc fell to my mighty mace, my kinsmen rallying around me to form A hardened rock in the ever stream of orcs. Swords clanked, Hammers fell, Axes severed. One of the foul creatures even met with he front plate of my helmet, its skull cracked like A plate of glass hit by rock.

The second blow upon the horn was given, the second charge came smashing in, led by non other then Lord Dwalin him self, the only thing louder then the screams of omy enemies were the roars my brethren.

With the new attack spearheading through the lines of Orcs I gained A short respite, but I did not want to fall behind the glorious attack that was taking place. I called upon my company for one last charge and we headed back towards the front on the attack again.

Shortly after my companies arrival the Horn of Núlm sounded for the last time, utter victory, the creatures whom hadn't fallen or died of their wounds were crawling back into the wet and dirty places they came from.

For the first time in weeks, we have gained A victory of great importance, songs were song in Thorin's Halls and continued untill the morning after. I like the battle before leading my company in word and song. Durin's Folk has proved it self this day. And songs and rhyme will be written about it. D'khrad Khûll!

From what I understand by Lord Dwalin decree most of the active troops are given A respite, I will take full advantage of that and travel back to Bree to visit those I hold close to my heart.

I will start packing my things tomorrow, for once with A warm and happy heart, knowing the enemy has been dealt a serious blow today.
