One time at the marketplace

It was just a few days ago, when I saw Brynleigh looking at produce from the stalls, when I decided to say hello to her.  I simply put my hand on her shoulder, and of course she jumped a little.  Couldn't blame her after what she went through in the past week.  We of course said our hellos to each other right after.  We chatted for a little bit, though it wasn't easy trying to shift the conversation to something else from the issue of murdering a rapist, or even the fact I almost died from a sorcerer.

Funny thing though, I asked how her parents were faring and she sort of gave me a rather confused expression, saying her parents hardly send her letters.  Later that day though, on our way home to the villages, she told Conrob about the contents of the letter within my earshot.  Not sure if she told anyone else about this, though I can't help but feel disappointed when she doesn't fill me in on these kinds of things as well.  I'd rather not sneak in and eavesdrop on their private conversations.

Anywho, she of course didn't want to talk about the other two happenings involving myself either.  I simply took her into my arms, and had to whisper for her to stay strong even if something were to happen to me.  She whispered back to me, telling me to not say such things, but I know there was more than she was letting on.  In fact, I could feel her tears coming down her cheeks as we embraced one another... It almost felt like the days before her betrothal to Ol' Conrob.  In fact, I only hesitated on saying those three little words to her, for I couldn't tell how she would take it.  Regardless, I whispered to her the three words: I love you.  I was rather glad for her to say those words back to me as he continued our embrace of each other.  Part of me wanted to kiss the girl.  Just one and nobody else would be the wiser.  Even when she was crying I could see such a lovely maiden with a gentle soul.  Little wonder I fell for her, and she almost reciprocated those feelings.

I of course offered her a little time around the town for just the two of us, though she gently declined and offered to walk over to the Pony as usual.  I'm still glad she'll be alright... I truly would lose my mind if something were to happen to her.
