Good Things Come in Two - A Poem

Now good things do
All come in twos
Here's a list
I'll read to you

Apples and pears
Rabbits and hares
Grey-haired hobbits
And rocking chairs
Peaches and cream
Sleep and dreams
Fish in rivers
Trout and bream

Scones and jam
Pots and pans
Pairs of gloves
And pairs of hands
Yawns and sighs
A pair of eyes
A pair of plates
Holding two pies

Bread and cheese
Carrots and peas
Trees and bushes
Honey and Bees
Bacon and eggs
Clothes and pegs
Hairy feet
And hobbit legs

Dogs and cats
Scarves and hats
Dwarves and beards
Doors and mats
Shrews and mice
Sugar and spice
Song and dance
Tea and a slice

And if you ask
The best is last
A hobbit lad
And hobbit lass!
So good things do
All come in twos
Married hobbits
Are best, its true!
