Words in a book, entry one

The deaf lass keeps telling me I should write in this book. It’ll help me with learning my letters and spelling, so here I am. Writing. What should I write about? Not sure I want to risk someone seeing this if I put down something important. OH, I KNOW WHAT I CAN WRITE! Oops, got excited there. A bit back, I got a letter from my friend Sue Belle. Made someone close to me then a bit nervous. I’ll stick it here. If you’re reading this, hope you can read all them fancy letters!

(Letter below is glued into the book with tree sap)

Dear Miss Laayla,

No, not that too! Gah, alright alright, I’ll get to what this here letter need be written. I done lost track of that no hand man of yours. He done vanish with five of the biggest and meanest bar brawlers I did ever see. I’m worried they got wind of you. Watch your back girl. I can’t follow as I’ve gone and got my belly filled. The father is a good man, you should come visit us. Oh, I got off that there man she asked me to watch. Well, he’s gone and I’m sure he has back-up.
