Captain's Quick Report: Brockenborings Fishing Contest
Busy times, busy times! Life is a bustling journey if one makes it so, but those moments of more quiet, and relaxing occasions, tend to be too few and far between -- except perhaps when a Brockenborings Fishing Contest is hosted in the Shire, by the Shire Angling Club organization!
This report will need to be as brief as possible again, there is a lot of paperwork and other travels to be had, in fact just a few days from now will be the first OAKS (Oldfurlong Amazing Koncert Series) of the year! So I'll have to write quickly, organize these rough sketches with haste, and pass it into the nearest mailbox during the ride southwards.
With sufficient evidence, this ol' Bree Captain is happy to state the gathering this day was most successful with familiar good hearts, cheerful spirits... and a tenacity for fishing talents that I haven't seen in a long while -- it was a large crowd that attended, many Hobbits, a Dwarf or two, and even a very large, excitable white horse!
While the drawings and colorings I hope to attach with this report should portray the event from start to finish more thoroughly than any of my written words can, do know that from my eyes it seemed to be a most well-organized gathering, plenty of fishes in that small pond, and the shortest period of counting I've ever seen! The method they have employed this time seems to have worked stunningly well.
Congratulations of most deserving nature to the Shire Angling Club, and Miss Penina Pondhopper for managing well the event all the way through with outstanding success!
Signed,
Captain Naismithea Willarc
Watcher of Roads
Representative of the Bree Captain's Guild
Officer of the Sworn Wanderers
Note from Naismithea: Dear Reader, if it should interest you, there is also a Shire Wassail gathering to happen later in the week -- primarily for Hobbits of course, being in the Shire-bounds. But it might be an interesting occasion to further study how farmers in those lands raise good crops and even fruit-bearing apple trees of swift quality -- should you be happening to pass by through the Shire with good reason, and have the spot of free time.
Overview Collection
(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like. The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!
Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded. In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc! Thanks for reading. ))
