Captain's Quick Report: The Little Wanderers at the B&B Yard party
These bands and musicians continue to amaze me upon nearly every occasion their instruments speak and lyrics are sung! The Little Wanderers are rumoured to be now fairly established regulars at their weekly Night of the Muses, which even in the Bree-land I first heard about many months ago – but regretfully could not make it to their first playing in the park of Michel Delving. Since then, they nearly slipped my mind – until these Hobbits performed today at the Bird and Baby Yard Party itself!
What a legacy of fine music do they live up to – play up to perhaps, as a matter of fact. Theirs are an outstanding collection of tunes they have seemingly gathered over their travels across Middle-earth, and further refined to suit Hobbit culture and life closer to home. All while keeping intact what sounds to be like many parts of the original themes and melodies of the songs most times too!
It was, as always, a wonderful joy to have been able to make for this event in attendance as a traveling representative of the Bree Captain’s Guild; especially when such special bands are invited to play and truly make these journeys even more the worthwhile to undertake. There certainly is a powerful thing upon these lands to be said of music; to bring good folk together and stir hearts to greater celebration and harmony.
What another outstanding gathering this was, from the audience to musicians and more!
The organizer Miss Bilbeto and the many various helpers to her cause that is the Bird and Baby Yard Party within the Shire-bounds, are without a doubt to be well-congratulated. For these Hobbits -- and many others of their kin and throughout the land – are truly talented in those arts of merry-making, cheerful celebration, and planning of regular events that do carry forth a friendly tradition of Hobbit culture.
But as ever time presses on, and my fleetingly short passing through the Shire must end as I now travel for even farther Ered Luin – for there is a spectacular ‘The Long Journey’ event planned by one outstanding Miss Trincia. For her, and her friends, they made a tradition each new year it’s been said – to ride far across Middle-earth from Frerin’s Court in Thorin’s Gate, all the way to distant East Rohan for a settlement named Snowbourn in the Sutcrofts area. If I should make it on time for the departure barring any delays in reaching Ered Luin, then I will still only attend as far as before they enter fabled Moria, most likely taking my leave at the encampment said to exist at Echad Dunnan inhabited by the Free Peoples.
And then after that, it’s back towards the familiar lands of Eriador, where there may be the possibility of another visit to the Shire for occasions such as the ‘OAKS with Baertigen Musen’, the ‘Brockenborings Fishing Contest’, or even a ‘Shire Wassail’. Though only time will tell if business will send me there on behalf of the Bree Captain’s Guild, hohoho!

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like. The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!
Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded. In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc! Thanks for reading. ))
