To my dear friend - Brablo Boffin,
It has been too long since I've last arrived at Barleywick and we last had a good chat! For that, I must apologize. I have been busy of late with studying your gift which was the first-edition of Semblo's the Silver-song's book entitled "Poetry of the Tenth Century". In truth, I have read it numerous times thus far, and it is remarkable what the chap was capable of! Such a fine use of words - both simple yet elegant, and as a result causes each poems to have several meanings and themes. But I've also been hard at work with the rewriting of my first poetry-book! Yet, despite the excitement all this work is giving him, I desire some peace and quiet - away from the Tooks, to say the least!
Since, the last (and first visit in over a number of years!) visit, I had wanted to visit you again and join your company and your family's. Family and friends are oft the best way to spend Yuletide, I should think! Unfortunately, due to the snow coming soon, I should think that by the time you get this letter, I'd already arrive! Despite the oddities of the Tooks, I have learnt how to travel through the snow rather quickly, should snow come quicker than expected, this year (wouldn't be the first time either)!
But aye, I wanted to make sure this letter arrives at least a day before I do, to ensure you do not get startled or surprised by my sudden arrival! Until then, stay warm!
Yours faithfully,
