Davick took me away from the house.
He marched in without so much as a greeting, threw a saddlebag at me and stated that I should pack. Quite what he thought I had to put in there is beyond me given that my belongings remain at the house I plan to buy. Still, I put my journal and the treatise on herblore into the bag, along with the spare dress he had been kind enough to retrieve for me and took my first forray about the place on a stick he had brought for support.
I feel horrendously ungainly with the thing, lurching along like some sort of demented stick figure. I am not certain which would be more undignified; hobbling about with that to aid me or being carried like a child.
Nevertheless, I just about managed to get outside, down the stairs and to the horse. He had to help me up onto the beast, of course, but we were away from there in short order - if not quite as short as he might have liked.
I do not know why we are running or what we are running from. I am not entirely certain that even he knows, but he is definately spooked about something. So much so, in fact, that he stuck a letter to the door before we left. He tells me that it is a ransom note, meant to make whoever is watching us believe that I am his prisoner and that he shall kill me unless they pay. I think he hopes to draw them out into the open or else send them on a wild goose chase that we might have more time to get away.
Unfortunately, our flight has not exactly gone without incident. He brought me to to Forsaken Inn to rest. I despise this place. It reminds me of worse days and always makes me edgy. My reaction to this place along with the stress I am under, the guilt I feel and all the rest when coupled with his tense state of mind made for a turbulent atmopshere.
I have absolutely no idea how it even started, but somehow we ended up arguing about Drevorin. Again. The man is no longer a part of my life and yet still he manages to cause trouble for me. Dratted man. Dratted heart. A part of me wishes that I had never met him, the rest of me knows that is a lie.
