Entry #1

(( This would be written in untidy handwriting, as Damosel writes things right there and then. And if you're going to ask about the spelling mistakes, may I remind you that it's her notebook. ))

How interesting. There seems to be a new house in Bree. House Elathian Elethan Elaithan. They have hired a healer by the name of Evalyna... or at least, this man called Vadmir has. His aunt was teasing Evalyna about fancying this Vadmir. Lady Ostaell, I later discovered she was called. And guess what! She was trying to keep her nephew away from yet another one of her workers. They'd been talking at the back of the Pony, and Ostaell asked Vadmir if he thought the girl was charming (in front of the girl!) and then told them that there should be no affections between them whatsoever. She even told the worker that she would lower her pay if this happened! Apparently this Ostaell wants a nice proper rich lady for her nephew, not a servant-girl. Eek. I wonder how this turns out.

That blonde girl and the dark-haired flirt (the one that has his own tavern, called the Golden Goat. His sister works in the Prancing Pony. She used a prank involving a mouse to get a raise.) were talking again. They're always talking. I heard them say something about Forochel. I think the blonde one is going there... they started saying something about elves and myths. It seems like the blonde is from Rohan and thought elves were just myths! Hobbits too! I don't exactly know what happened afterwards, but it sounds like the dark-haired one was trying to convince her to not go on this trip to Forochel (I am not sure why? It sounds like she can't ride a horse?) and then he left. Then the blonde's friend told her that the dark-haired one was only trying to get under her dress. Hmm. (Fridegyd. The blonde's name is Fridegyd.)

Blonde's talking to that one with the hat too now (he didn't seem to be wearing a hat today at least. Was it stolen again? Some woman's pestered him a few times for dumping whiskey on her after she stole his hat). About another Rohirrim, Blonde was asking if she was another refuge. I suppose this Rohirrim is close to this hat-man. I've only caught a few words. Something about a Cliving. Seems to be in the Westfold... wherever that is.

Dark-haired showed up again, trying to keep Fridegyd from hat-man. He doesn't approve of him. Apparently they have a friend they are calling Cirywen who hat-man was close to killing. Or, at least, he made some death threats. Hat-man's argument was that dark-haired was ready to draw his weapons, which was just as bad. How silly. The Fridegyd gal is still sitting there. She looks so out of place.

The man I've heard them call John (who apparently seems to have left the Watch... I didn't even know he was in it... I've ever seen him in uniform anyway) was fighting with this woman over a chair. I think it looked cute.

Though what is it with all the couples these days? Everyone's pairing up. Or is it just me? Even that detective seems to have a girl, from what I've heard. But that's another story.
