Letter of Resignation - Alistar Welstan

Rhyva,

Whilst I appreciate the trust you have shown in my abilities, I am afraid that I must once again abdicate my position as a constable of the watch. Since returning to Bree, I have found that the people and the watch are not on the same page anymore. The people cry out for justice they can see. They are disheartened to see a man arrested for murder, only to walk the streets a few days later. This is not so much a flaw of the watch, as it is of the system the watch must adhere to.

I wish this were the only issue, but alas, it is not, For I have seen how those below you would treat my fair city. I will not slander those you have placed your trust in, but I think that, should you took a close look at the actions and words of those below you, you would find out why the watch is not trusted by the people of Bree. There are those among us who see the people as a hassle, a burden, subjects. When in truth, no man is better than any other. There was a time in which the watch knew this, but it would seem that the time for that has passed.

So, I must take my leave. I will continue to find ways to help the people of this city, but I will do so as a sell sword, and by no rules except my own. Do not worry, I will not interfere with matters of the watch. It was good seeing you again Red, I hope you can garner the trust of the people once more, but until then... Farewell.
