Captain's Quick Report: Great Trout Tickle

Have you ever travelled to Northcotton, Master Reader?  Just slightly west of Oatbarton, you'll find a market and farms belonging to the Townsfolk of Northcotton.  And today, there was held a most splendid affair to do with fishing, together with the renowned Shire Angling Club.

Within that rare number of Bramblebury Gazette papers which ever reach Bree-town, due to it being a mostly Shire-bound publishing, and not so much newsworthy made for eyes and ears of others outside of Hobbit stature -- there was written a piece describing the joining of forces of the Shire Angling Club and Townsfolk of Northcotton to host a Great Trout Tickle

With luck, the Bree Captain's Guild sent me word of this early enough, and suggesting that if appropriate circumstances arise, that an attempt at attending might do some good.  The Townsfolk of Northcotton had been a recent subject of interest of the Guild, and coming events they make public to stir life and bring visitors to Northcotton was of worthy note to consider and support.  It was a long journey northwards through the Shire to reach Oatbarton and then Northcotton, but I finally did arrive as the Deputy Mayor of Northcotton, Breona Twilburr, gave her official speech to declare the event open and begun!

A splendid trip it was, with collective fishing, music, food and drink to be had -- and a most successful one if my ears did hear the announcements right in the end; Master Ponso Pondhopper, Club President of the Shire Angling Club mentioned a total record of 63 trout caught; and the Evendim Hillbillies along with Master Onionfarmer and Miss Anerra and sometime in between, a Master Shirewise did play some outstanding tunes throughout this most welcoming fishing occasion.

But enough writing for now, the time is late and though I submit this report with just a few hours having passed since the event ended on warm terms, no doubt it may take some time for it to reach the Archives.  Another large collection of sketches and rough colorings of the like was I able to send with this early report, but there may be quite a number to peruse, so do take care in browsing  only if you have ample time and a stout heart -- though I have done what I can to weed out unnecessary ones in my eyes!

P.S.
I've been looking at a most curious noticeboard or sorts, and from it I gleaned some sort of conclusion that another musical appearance by the Maidens of Vanimor are to happen in a few days time from now in Celondim, if the plans remain on schedule and have not changed since the writings I read.  There is of course the 'Dance Lessons At Woodhall' over in the Shire which seems most promising an event for those seeking more practice with the timing of dance steps, and then there is new gossip surrounding an event within a few weeks called 'The Ultimate Drunkard Challenge!'.  It details a long travel and ride throughout many lands in search of drink and taverns, inns and ales.

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the picture slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that.

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
