We have orders too

Everything was quiet in the camp in Dol Dinen, the patrols and the guards were consisted of pale and brown orcs. The races learned to work together, under the whip that Osgash used to discipline them each time they fought. Now they mostly snarled at each other or were insulting one another, under a silent pact that they wouldn’t attack each other, they all knew that the Captain would whip them mercilessly.

Osgash made his way up the hill, looking at his soldiers all around, some were training, one or two were drinking from the new drinks that they stole and very few were on duty, patrolling around the camp. Three pale orcs passed by him, descending the path and grinned, showing their contempt at him, Osgash remained serious and only put his hand on his belt over the whip, making the hurry down. He entered the camp to find the Commander eating something that looked like a boar leg.

The company will be here soon.” He said, munching the meat, Osgash nodded and turns around to look outside the tent, remaining quiet. “Once they come go down and take half of them and half of mine and go West, there is a camp near a man-village. We have to reinforce them, you will go there and return, leave fifty of them at that camp, those are the orders.” And pushed the plate away and dusted his chest off from the crumbs. Osgash didn’t reply, he just nodded once and sat to a chair near the entrance of the tent and took his sword out and started sharpening it.

The sound of the marching orcs reached the ears of the goblins that scouted the land, Southeast of the camp. Soon they saw them approaching and the short creatures ran back to report, the gates flung open and the two companies entered. The newcomers looked at the pale orcs with hostility and amazement, seeing that the other brown ones were working with them. Distrustful looks were thrown left and right as they all looked at each other, the horn sounded and a goblin walked up the hill to inform the commander of the arrival.

Osgash kept his head low during the report and when the goblin left he put the whetstone near the chair he was sitting on, into a chest. “You know what to do!” ordered the commander and waved him off, the pale orc turned around to find something behind his desk and when he turned again he saw Osgash standing there, he grunted, narrowing his eyes and raised his voice. “Are you deaf? You know the orders, go!” and snarled, waiting for Osgash to leave. The Captain walked up to the Commander and drew his sword, the sound of which reached the Commander’s ears, “We have orders too…” said Osgash and steppped closer.

Below the Commander’s tent the two new companies stood in lines, waiting for their orders, as well as two more companies, consisted of the pale orcs. Everyone stood in attention, showing patience when the sound of fighting reached their ears, they prepared to draw their weapons sand everything stopped, the orcs started to sniff the air, tilting their heads left and right when they saw it. The Commander’s head came flying from the hill and landed on the ground before them, it rolled to the middle of those gathered, making them draw their weapons as they waited. Osgash appeared ontop of it, the whip in his right hand, while his left one rested on the hilt of his sword. The pale orcs saw him and attacked the brown ones, shouting “Betrayal!” and “Treachery!”. Osgash remained unmoved and let them fight for some moments; four or five orcs fell dead from both sides.

Stand down worms!” shouted the Captain but this time they didn’t obey, they continued fighting, making him angry. He signed the trolls at the door and the two creatures walked to the fighting ones and growled loudly, at first the orcs prepared to launch an attack at the trolls but Osgash’s voice was heard again. “I said stand down! I am in charge now.”, the orcs turned to look at him with narrowed eyes and he continued. “I am the Commander now, you either obey or follow him!” and pointed at the Commander’s head, no one dared argue and he went on. “I will tell you what we’ll do soon, now get to work!” and walked back into the tent.
