Captain's Quick Report: Songs Of The Water - A Musical Tale
With Hobbit events, one begins to learn that perhaps nothing in the realm of music is as imaginative and wonderfully-spirited as some of these dear small folk are able to compose amongst their traditions. Certainly those of Elven songs and musicians have a great share in woodland stories and melodies that sing of the land in celebration, no doubt the Dwarves have their own ancient tunes of old that keepsake history throughout the generations, and of course I can't leave out the fact I've heard my share of both lively song and mournful tunes amongst my own kind hailing from the race of Man.
Still, yet after many past performances and musical displays by the Hobbit-folk, there seems no end in sight to the genuine creativity and joy in crafting new songs and music to support their tales of old and stories of tradition; truly this night's host of music, complemented with a spinning tale to do with water and it's beauty, was most calming and also well suited to the theme this event advertised. If only something like moving pictures could be so easily made possible to document these wonderful events that one could share the same songs and tales to ears and eyes not present at these joyful celebrations... but alas! My mind is much too simple to conjure such a solution or invention... but perhaps others out there might attempt it someday... because surely; you should have been there to hear the songs played, the spirit of the story infused through the narrating musicians, and the dancing of the crowd! An astonishing display of blues, whites, and watery colors did folk wear today too! It was like a constant wave of blue moving as one to the notes of the musical performance!
As always, hopefully in due time a complete and concise report will follow on this event from my perspective as a representative of the Bree Captain's Guild, but for the time being, this quick report shall be submitted early to the archives of The Grey Repository with what draft sketches, drawings and paintings can manage to be included before too much time has passed.
I will end this letter now, sitting at a table with a mug of warm drink before me, here at the Bird and Baby Inn; that dip into the water in celebratory cheer back at the concluding moments to the musical, just an hour ago, surely was the cause of my constant sniffing and sneezing now... but perhaps I could claim to have been keeping safe from the barrage of fireworks the audience let loose, in such a cheerful uproar near the end!
I advise you to look at the associated sketches and drawings with this early report to see for yourself! Hoho! Congratulations to Hobbit Heart, the Shire Rose and all those whom participated as both performers, audience, organizers and more! An outstanding memory of water-like melodies and tales I will cherish for a-many long year!

The main story itself told during the event is also recorded over on the archives here, be sure to search for 'Songs Of The Water - A Hobbit Fairy-Tale'. Also, a full posting of the evening program was available for several weeks prior to event day, if interested, follow these directions.

Are you still here? Hoho! Looking for one last fill of musical melodies in celebration of water? Well don't take my word for it, but there's this convincing display of moving images by a Miss Lina from several months ago, concerning hobbits involving water, and a bath song! Do not worry -- all hobbits remained unharmed, and fully clothed -- though I suspect there was plenty of laughing, fun, and good cheer in the making of it; alongside more than a handful of broken ankles!
