Tur Elisbeth-
Since my last report to you, I ventured back up into the Hithaeglir, this time alone, since Thendryt had business elsewhere. I sighted the Guaradan I spoke of in the first report again-this makes the third time I have seen this creature. I also discovered another unnaturally large giant, down in the Giant Halls. And I found the beast that rumor has spoken of. It is an unnaturally large snow beast, many times the size of a regular beast.
I copied a map of the area, and am going to mark the sightings upon it, to see if a pattern will present itself and if the creatures have specific ranges. I would not like to be set upon by two at once, even with a company with me!
I have tasked Eirallyn with seeing if there are any accounts in the library of such unnaturally large creatures. She is much better with scholarly things than I and that will hopefully keep her well occupied until she is fully recovered. I promise, I will be careful as I track the creatures. Lithrovail is acting as my eyes in the sky. He see them long before I do and gives me warning, that I may creep close enough.
If I find any other such monsters, get better information on the movement of these creatures or the missing scout rumor has spoken of, I will either come back down to consult with you, or send an eagle.
Respectfully,
Lilleduil
(a hastily scrawled note is added at the bottom)
I spoke to Ambassador Parnard just a little while ago. He was most intrigued by the idea of the range map and I promised to show it to him. I didn’t see any problem with discussing the matter in brief with him, as he is a person of great discretion. And I wanted to reassure him that we were aware of the beast and any other possible threats and were dealing with the situation. L.
