The Manur Dynasty; A history of the Mad-Dwarf's House, within a House

*OOC* Please understand, that this is through the in-character view of Murgoin. Thus, there -will- be purposely imbedded errors, mistakes, and contradictions.

The Manur Dynasty; A history of the Mad-Dwarf's House, within a House

House Valantris is one, that is old - Being a based-longbeard clan that decended from, as all Dwarves as such do, Durin I 'The Deathless'. The House, family, in it's current state is run by the Uzbad, Salgalin Valantris, whom has three, living, brothers, in order of eldest to youngest: Rukhmorn, Harkmorn, and Valbrorn, each being the first of their names. Within this essay, of sorts, Harkmorn shall be observed in particular, and with even more particularity - The Manur Dynasty.

This is for the reason that, he attempted to make his own 'House' and lineage, known as the 'Manur Dynasty' - There is a lot of controversy revolving this topic, and many myths which I, Murgoin, wish to rebut, over time and several releases.

First, let us begin at, well, the beginning. Harkmorn was the third-born son of Calgalin III, son of Volbroin, son of Brolin, whom spent his early life in the field of crafting, as most Dwarves do - Until the age of ninety-and-four, he was working in the said-field, as a metalsmith of sorts, crafting armour and weaponry for other Dwarves, himself, or for ceremonial use. It was at such an age, that Harkmorn, by the wishes of himself, and his father, entered the militaristic life. Which, at the time, was deemed extremely odd, for most Dwarves wouldn’t do as such, or anything similar, till the age of twenty-and-one-hundred, or thirty-and-one-hundred, where a Dwarf is deemed to have entered their 'Middle Age' lifespan (Though it should be noted, that Harkmorn also married at the age of 79, again - Extremely early for a Dwarf). For the next thirty-four years, he trained, and fought, as a free-lance soldier in many skirmishes, and a few notable battles. One 'notable' event that he, and his father Calgalin III, were involved in - Was The Battle of the Five Armies, in which Harkmorn was aged twenty-six-and-one-hundred. This battle was deemed to be his last, after the loss of his father, Calgalin III, in the said battle.

It was now, that a certain depression, of sort, fell upon House Valantris - The old Uzbad, whom was already a father to five, and a grand-father to even more, was dead. The next heir had to be decided upon, whom could either be of Salgalin's bloodline, Salgalin 'The Wise' being the first-born son of Calgalin, or of Rukhmorn's, whom was the second-born son, and thus the future heir, if Salgalin chose to give the leadership to his brothers - Only, one should note that he did not. Having three sons of his own, at the time, Salgalin decreed that his eldest, Calgalin IV, would become the new heir.

Two years would pass, before Harkmorn left the lifestyle that he once deemed himself destined for, now aged Twenty-Eight-and-One-Hundred. He was quite distraught, at this moment, and is, and was, described as having been 'lost' - So it was then, that he decided, as knowledge goes, to begin forging a sub-group within the House Valantris, known as Manur - Named after a war-friend, whom he deemed a brother (To the point that he took his name, 'Manur' as a second to his own), that pulled him from his father's corpse, after he witnessed his father's death. He, Manurgar, and six other Dwarves - That is.

The Manur Dynasty was formed. Harkmorn found in his time of deep thought, an idea - His father was dead, and he was most definitely 'off' the list for being a lord, an Uzbad... And thus, he thought to himself, that perhaps it would be wise to act quickly and make a sub-House, a dynasty, of his own.

One must be certain to avoid falsehood, though! Harkmorn was not a traitor, as some believe. He wished for no self-gain or glorification, through his act - Rather a means to a life he could live, and I would not dare dishonor my good allies, friends, and Dwarven brethren by breathing further life into these lies.

The Manur Dynasty would act as a vassal-group of Dwarves whom would serve House Valantris' family, Harkmorn's own family, and it's future heirs, Harkmorn's nephews, and grand-nephews, and great-nephews, and so on. As much was certain, he would be his own lord, under the protection of the current Uzbad, who was, and still is, Salgalin Valantris - And would, ofcourse, offer his own protection in return. He began by stating as much to his family members. The responses were varied - Rukhmorn deemed it foolish, but did not object to the idea, while Salgalin himself deemed it wise - Even though he originally felt betrayed (Having only been Uzbad for two years, before Harkmorn seemed to be wanting that power). Ulfgroin, whom was quite militaristic himself, and whom was already making a name for himself as a warrior, supported the idea - It would be a good choice, one that would allow others within the family to help in supporting, indirectly, the family name. Valbrorn, the last-born son of Calgalin III, did not support, nor object Harkmorn.

Harkmorn soon named his son, Garmorn, whom was at this time aged fourty-and-seven. (Having been born when Harkmorn was but eighty-and-one - Very early for a Dwarf.), the heir to the Manur Dynasty, hoping that he could create a solid faction with as much.

At the age of Thirty-Two-and-One-Hundred, Harkmorn had a dynasty of his own, two sons, one an heir that was already making quite the name for himself (Garmorn grew rapidly, and had already, at the age of Fifty-and-One, mastered combat with all forms of weaponry, from daggers, to axes, to warhammers), and the other a new-born, whom would serve to aid his first son when he came of age to take custody of the Manur Dynasty.

The next period-of-many-years were prosperous for the Dynasty, Harkmorn became a terrific diplomat, able to sway many, as his word slowly became divine mandate, and a better-yet warrior. He was regarded by his brother, Rukhmorn, as "Ugabil Uzbad", or "The Great Lord". One should indeed note just how supreme a lord, he did become - Wise, firm, powerful.

In seven years, Kheaya, Harkmorn's wife for sixty-years, died. This sent Harkmorn into mourning for the next fifteen years. While some deemed this strange for the "Great Lord", Rukhmorn of all (Whom referred to him that on occasion), it should be understood that Harkmorn married Kheaya at a very young age, and practically grew up through his early, and middle life, with her.

Now, aged Fifty-Four-and-One-Hundred, Harkmorn tried his best to expand the Manur Dynasty, through means of diplomacy - He contacted other Dwarf-Lords, and even began opening trade agreements with the Elves of the far West, hoping to buy out land for his Dynasty. His efforts were for naught, however - And people began to wonder if this landless dynasty that lived only to serve another, was worth... Well, serving. Dwarves began to abandon the Manur Dynasty, and Harkmorn fell into despair - His eldest son, Garmorn, now aged  Nine-and-Sixty, began his 'grooming' for command.

The next thirty years were solemn, and silent. Not much was heard from the Manur Dynasty except from within that of the close-relatives of House ValantrisGarmorn was aged Nine-and-Ninety, and was already fighting as a mercenary, while Argmorn, Harkmorn's second son which I have not been permitted to write of yet, was aged Seven-and-Ninety, and married. Harkmorn himself was at the grand age of Eighty-Four-And-One-Hundred. It is deemed that, at the following, the Manur Dynasty Ended:

Harkmorn went missing. By which you must take the literal meaning, he simply disappeared and was not found, for ten years of endless searching from his son, Garmorn - Until eventually, he returned one day, aged Ninety-Four-and-One-Hundred, to his family's estate-home, looking unlike his old self. He was also changed, mentally - Harkmorn had developed a madness so deep that it seemed no sanity was left within him, and due to this insanity; No one knows, to this day, how he disappeared, and why he was taken by madness.

The Manur Dynasty was officially decreed as having ended, by Garmorn, aged Nine-and-One-Hundred, on the 18th of October, by the common-reckoning calendar, of the year: 3009 T.A.
