Yuletide In Middle-Earth

At Yuletide, there's always an abundance of dance, music and food in many regions of Middle-earth and throughout the land to add warmth and sparkle to everyone's yuletide celebration. The Elves officially opened the seasonal celebrations with their 6th Annual Elven Ball in Rivendell. A magical night of music and dances attended by all the Elven folk of good will from across Middle-earth.

As soon as the mountain passes are accessible, the lovely town of Winterhome will open its gates to visitors and tourists that descent to the village every year to celebrate Yule in style. Winterhome is worth a visit - here you can enjoy the stunning line-up of festive fêtes – and unique holiday happenings – planned out for all folk.

Meanwhile in the Shire hobbits are gearing up the preparations for their annual celebrations that include the 11th Historical field trip ( hobbits love their hystory...any excuse for a party ), setting up Yule's trees in their gardens, exchanging of mathoms, great parties with even greater dinner tables, concerts and more. Also in the planning for this year the annual hobbit Wassailing in Winterhome and of course, the grand New Year's version of Green Dragon Friday that will take place at The Plough and Stars in Brockenborings. In Thorin's Hall the Dwarves are also getting ready to celebrate Yule with music and great feasts that traditionally involve lots and lots of ale, so if Dwarven culture is more your kind of thing make the short trip to Thorn's Hall and meet the friendly dwarves. If you are a dwarf you can even take part in the regular Khuzdul lessons where you can learn the ancient language of the dwarves.

There are diverse festivities in Bree of course, fun family times at the picturesque village of Staddle and plenty of opportunities to get into high spirits with fancy yuletide drinks, food and breathtaking city views at The Prancing Pony, courtesy of Landlord Master Barliman Butterbur.
