Suspect description: Average in height, clad in black, mutton chops and a moustache. Wears an oversized top hat, and presents himself in an overly friendly manor. Has an eerie air about him.
update: Suspect appearance strangely seems to not stay the same. Either it isn't the same person, the man is really good at assuming false identities, or I have simply seen the wrong person.

A man known as ‘The Gentleman’ has made his first series of appearances within the village of Bree. I first saw him at a meeting in Fullbridge, where he launched festival fireworks in the direction of the Watch Captain’s estate. He was ignored at the moment, but I feel it may have been a mistake to overlook the man’s actions.
He has been associated with a man called ‘Viper’ who is still yet to be identified. From what I have been told, he blends into any shady crowd. He is black-clad, hooded, and armed. Allegedly dangerous, so I’ll need to be careful when approaching him. It is believed that a woman named Tallia Kolten, and a man named Jegaur could be useful in finding the Viper.
I have spoken to a woman named Sarriya, who has been contacted by this ‘Gentleman’. He said only that he meant to introduce himself, and that she would, “Be seeing a lot more of him.”
I fear he may turn out to be a less discreet copy-cat of the previous ‘Ripper’ case. It is also believed that he may have come into contact with the ripper at some point.
Follow: I will need to keep an eye on Sarriya, speak to the Ripper before he is sentenced to death, and find The ‘Viper’. I may be able to build up enough evidence to quickly put this man away, before his ill intent becomes abundantly clear.

I have spoken to Priya about the Gentleman. She described him as a shorter man, with a think beard, dark hair, blue eyes, and dark clothes, who is quick to anger. I have also come into contact with Jegaur
He gave me a letter that read the following:
Dearest Jegauer
So you’re the one who survived the ripper, hmm? In his name I’ll make sure you don’t survive me.

I have also spoken to the Ripper, about his knowing on the Gentleman. He told me,
"He draws inspiration from me and my work, he doesn't seek to mimic me in the manner of which I killed my victims, no he lacks the aptitude for such - He craves attention and recognition, he wants to be recognized for his work and his unhinged psyche will make him unpredictable and far more reckless than I, he will be easier to catch. Look to public events and large gatherings. Weddings, concerts, town meetings, executions."
"Love and death are the great hinges on which all human sympathies turn."
Thus far, I have gathered significant evidence to prove his intent to kill, and possibly maim people.

I have apprehended a man that I believe is the Gentleman, but something is off. He looks, different. Acts different. I almost know it’s him, but there is a small hint of doubt. After all, that hat of his usually covers up his face in shadow. Maybe I just looked at it wrong?
Either way, the man I have taken in has asked me to inform his wife of his imprisonment.
“Cierra, we have a steading. The address is 3 Garden Street, Pemberth.” When I said I could not inform his family he was incarcerated for investigative purposes, he snapped, but quickly calmed down again saying,
"Look I'm sorry. But she'll be worried for me. I have a daughter as well. Her name is Myra. I just want them to know I'm alright. My apologies for the outburst."
I have started looking into his personal information, and have found the following, by questioning him:
Name: Dale Pierson
Father: Unknown to him
Mother: Myra
Upbringing: Middle-class, farmers. Farm sold long ago.
Favored meal: Chicken and corn
Favored color: Green
Favored instrument: The Lute
This random information was largely just to see if it was a false identity. I will check tomorrow with his wife, to see if he speaks truth.
