Sneaking Suspicion...

I am starting to think the gods and goddesses decided to give me some kind of foresight...

I have seen this one man around town before; green robes, brown hair and goatee and he carries a staff... seemed like a fairly normal, scholarly fellow to the untrained eye... But I was a highly trained eye. Very highly trained... I have heard him ask the same thing to various women before and didn't think much of it the first time, but the more he asked, the more suspicious I grew.

I heard him ask another woman, "Can you show me to the Scholar's Archives?" That piqued my interest. So I decided to do what I do best... Sneak after him. I crept silently after him, hiding and becoming one with the shadows.

They (we) eventually made it to the archives. I listened carefully to hear what was happening, as I was around the corner and could not see them without exposing myself. One sound stood out to me the most... The sound of wood hitting bone and flesh...

I sprung into action! My wrist blade was out, sword drawn and I whirled around the corner! The poor lass was out cold on the ground. That wretched bloke stood above her, staff poised and a look of shock and guilt at getting discovered upon his face.

I calmly strode up to the man and he began to freak out, saying that she tried to rob him... An innocent man does not freak out. i argued the man and began to threaten the attacker... he eventually gave up his pursuit of the woman and hurried off, realizing that he would lose to me no matter what. Whatever his intentions were, I knew that they were foul...

I quickly sheathed my blades and gathered the woman up in my arms and took her to the Pony. I got her a room to stay in and started to tend to her. I got annoyed at this one annoying woman and Garton who wouldn't put their petty differences aside to help me aid to the lass...

Eventually, I got the hot kettle I asked for and I made the girl tea for when she woke up. She did shortly thereafter, and Garton and I asked her some questions. Her name is Ceciliy and she seemed a sweet enough lass... Innocent though...

Garton recruited her as one of the Roses... I intend to keep her on Intel to keep some shred of innocence left in her... Perhaps I'm slowly seeing myself as a bit of a father to the Guild...

I offered the lass a gold coin, seeing as they were as worthless as copper to me now; the look of happiness on her face warmed my heart...
