Departure of Bregnar Stoneshaper

Bregnar Stoneshaper son of Allfar, son of Falnar and the brother of Ullfar. A stonemason and builder, shaper of stone and iron. In his early days he helped build Thorins halls. Later he helped rebuild Erebor. Now in the final phase of his life he heard a new and maybe a last calling, to rebuild Khazad-Dum...

Hilfar had a heavy heart when he walked to Frerins court. He came to say his farewells to his uncle Bregnar, whom he loved and respected deeply. At the central plaza was a gathering of maybe around 60 dwarrows. There were two large wagons filled with goods, each pulled by four ponies. Among the goods Hilfar saw a lot of iron picks and other tools, barrels of food and ale and weapons. This was yet another caravan preparing to leave to Khazad-Dum. Among the crowd was Bregnar, his chest was armor plated, but he wore comfortable boots and unchained sleeves. He also wore a heavy backpack with all his personal belongings. Bregnar was never married and so had no children, his entire life was dedicated to his work. Bregnar spotted Ullfar and walked to him, his stature was a proud one. They grabbed eachothers lower arm firmly and nodded respectfully. Bregnar smiled "it is time, the iron garrison managed to get a foothold in the first halls, some forges are burning and the sounds of the hammers are ringing in the deep once more, there is much work to be done!".

Bregnar started his farewell speech, he always was a proud one, maybe too proud for his own good. "Long have I waited for a chance to go where our forefathers dwelled, to behold the marvels of our kin. For too long have they been defiled by lesser beings, for too long have we sat here in the west. Let this be the hour that house ironhammer depart to our true calling, let us rebuild Khazad-Dum!" Ullfar and Hilfar and many others were inspired by his speech and pounded their chests and some cheered.

Bregnar turned to Hilfar and smiled heartily. "Ah nephew, I have been hearing good things about you. I am sure your will see our house regain its lost wealth, for you have long years ahead of you. You are stronger than you may think, Hilfar the kind hearted, You will see that one day." Bregnar rubbed his knuckles over Hilfars head, just like he used to in his youth. Hilfar bowed deeply and tried not to express his worries. He didnt like that his uncle left, there was no word from Balins expedition for years... and not forget Durins bane...  Besides he saw how his father Ullfar had a jealous glimmer in his eyes, the thought of true-silver is growing in his mind, and the yearning to Khazad-Dum as well. Troublesome.. troublesome indeed.

And so a group left of around 30 dwarves heavily packed with two large wagons. A company of crafters, miners, guards even a few tinkers and scholars of many different houses.

Hilfar said his farewells as so many others did
"Mukhuh Mahal udnîn zu ra sanzigil umkhûh zu! "
