The Woodlark's First Song

~~He stepped carefully around the edge of the flet where his wife lay upon a long chair, covered in a soft green blanket and holding a small bundle in her arms.
"Come and see your little maiden," she smiled.
He stepped closer, peering cautiously at the small form which lay upon his wife's heart.
"I am told such creatures can produce great yells and cries...I do not wish to fright it."
The small bundle yawned and stretched, making a light cooing sound in answer to the birds which had gathered  in the branches of the Mallorns.
He smiled, and reached out a gentle finger to touch the little cheek.
"She is a little Woodlark....our Gladaewen..."  and the last of his doubts melted with his heart.
His wife looked up at her husband mischievously, and placing a soft kiss on her child's head said,
" For now she is just happy to sing to the Light with the little ones. I daresay the yells and cries will come soon enough..."
