Memories of the Past
Fiontann had retreated into the back room and was in heated discussion with the young woman. On a number of occasions Chaney could hear him raise his voice loudly, calling out her name, Taala.
Within the main hall Chaney had already begun to slowly walk toward the man whom had took up a position by the barrels of mead and begun to smoke some pipeweed.
As she walked over she lowered her head and pulled up her mask so as she were only showing her emerald eyes. The man looked up, greeted her, and carried on smoking. Chaney remained silent and just glared intently at him finally realizing whom he was.
The man, Brammy, was a former Blackwold whom had joined them at the time of the death of Chaney’s father three years previously. The man mentioned about her being silent and not saying much.
It was at this point that Chaney made reference to him and slowly and surely pulled her mask and hood down to reveal her face to him. To Brammy it was like seeing a ghost. His face simply drained of blood, and went an ashen white in colour. He almost dropped his pipe and almost fell in amazement and horror.
He had suddenly realized whom she was. Chaney was upon him in a flash, swiftly and agile, she was behind him before he could even move, and had placed her daggers at his throat. The raised voices between them brought Fiontann and Taala back into the room.
Fiontann seeing this raced over and grabbed Chaney’s arm and pleaded with her not to carry through on her threat. Chaney furiously turned her head and looked at him with blazing emerald eyes of fury.
Chaney finally released the man, shrugged Fiontann’s grip off of her, growled with anger, and sheathed her daggers and stormed off into the far corner of the hall.
Brammy recomposed himself, and stood with Taala. Fiontann motioned for them to stay put and followed Chaney, striding over in anger. He angrily at first attempted to gain explanation as to her actions. Chaney would do nothing more than just glare with tears welling in her eyes.
The other two would join Fiontann and Chaney, and attempt to find out why she had gone berserk and almost killed Brammy…….
