Adventures of Chaney Oakleaf Book1 Part7...

Note: OOC I am awaiting permissions to release part 6. I do not like to name other characters in my stories until such time as I have spoken with them. Therefore I am releasing part 7 first. Sorry for any confusion caused :)

A bond formed between new friends.

The ride to the Dawn Hall for the first time on her own would be a special one for Chaney. She truly felt the wind on her face, she let her hood down and allowed it to blow through her long wavy black locks of hair.

Bertnar was really beginning to enjoy having the company of someone riding him again as well. After all he had stood idly for quite some time since his former master had taken up riding a new steed. All he had been used to since this was merely being allowed to graze on his land, and if lucky be given a brief canter around. Although this had become less and less of late.

It was just as much fun for him as it was for Chaney. A special bond between the two was beginning to form which would last for a long time to come.

Chaney did not ride him directly to the Hall, instead she rode him off the beaten track a little and took the time to give him a really good run south down to Pierson’s Farm and then west across to Halecatch lake. Here she would dismount and allow him to drink a copious amount of water to replenish him. All the while being watchful of the neekerbreekers and and wild boar which inhabited the area not to mention the brigand population from the close by southern ruins of Andrath.

The gloaming of the dusk wore on and the first stars began to shine brightly in a darkening sky and Chaney pressed onwards to her new home within the settlement of the Breeland homesteads, home to the Dawn Hall.

As she reached the gateway and the path that led up to the large house she saw the guards making their usual patrol around the grounds, this time however, seeming to accept her as one of their own kin.

Chaney pulled up just shy of the stable area for the company’s horses and swiftly and agile dropped down from her friend. As she handed the reins to the stable boy she again would whisper into his ear which would be followed by a slight snort and neigh.

Chaney put her arms around his neck and gave him a pat before heading off to the main door of the Hall once again. This time however, she was alone, but not alone as in lost. Oh no, this time she was going to enter the great house as a full member of the Bloody Dawn.
