Escape and the will to go on

I did it, I escaped, it's taken time and planning, i made friends but lost more. they took us from angmar, herding us towards isangard, seems the orcs were smart enough to chain me to someone else, to many failed escape attempts but even with one arm I can still swing a pickaxe. i never learned the lads name they stuck me with, said he was from bree and that was good enough for me. We snuck out at dawn, killed one of the guards with a small knife we had stolen and kept hidden, we kept it in my hair at the back of my neck, good thing i grew it out, and the small bit of dried sinew from a deer they killed made good string. then came the hard part, crossing the ford, and making for Edoras or one of the smaller villages, but the chains had to come off first.... I won't put it down in detail for i plan to keep this and the other scraps of paper I manged to keep hidden, Nime and Ber will know i never stopped thinking of them, the most i will say is. A wolf caught in a trap will chew its own leg off to survive...i plan to find the lads family, said he had a sister in bree that he hadn't seen in a long time, wanted me to tell her he was sorry, said she would be about twenty four summers old, He didn't make it, we had no wayto stop the bleeding once the rain hit us. I buried him as best I could by a small creek. I made it across the Ford and now here I am, hiding in the celler of a village....no ones left the orcs seem to have killed then all. found a dead rider and dragged him down here i plan to take his arms and armour, blacken tbe chain and cloth with soot then make a run for the east, see if any of the villages I remeber are still around. I'm going home. no matter what it takes. I will get back to bree.
