Sídhanar,
Long has it been since we walked side by side between the great mellyrn together; you, telling me stories of events that have long since passed and the distant lands they took place in.
I find myself missing you the most when my tireless quick temper overcomes me and you are not there to still it. I imagine you then, placing your hand on my shoulder, a knowing smile dancing on your lips. "Gerich 'ûn sui raw," you would say. You have a heart like a lion.
Though my selfish heart tells me otherwise, it is good that you have passed beyond my reach. I would not wish for you to see the dark times we now live in. You carried burdens enough with you.
Listen to me, lamenting! You would admonish me for this, I know. Avaro naeth, mellon nín, my lion heart is not yet heavy. I lament only for you, for you were dear to my heart. Still, I can no longer walk care-free in the forest of gold and silver, shutting my eyes and ears to the goings-on of the world outside, for the world is changing, and great forces are stirring in Middle-Earth. Our time is ending, and you may see me sooner than we both expected.
Berio ven Eru,
Eglaniel
