Oldiss' Diary (Entry four)

Diary,

The time has come, the life has begun. Quietly and patiently my lover and I wait. I retreat my emotions to prepare for the outcome. Open my mind to what the future may hold. Inside me lays my life, my hope. Will I be, will you be? Now it is time to wait in silence, only whispers of suggestions shall be heard. Weeks seem like years as we wait for a sign. Not daring to consider what might be. So much power in the thought of trying is becoming you. After an eternity, steal a furtive glance, observe carefully. Dare to check the future, what might be. Nothing, yet, this wait is like one thousand daggers to the heart. Swallow hard, manage a smile, soon it will happen. My belly will fill with baby, my house will fill with happiness. I blink back tears until my belly is grown, finally a new life starts to show.
