The next day The fellowship left the Last Homely House and rode for the Misty Mountains through Cirith İmladris . They headed for the Gloin's camp at a short but dangerous distance to the north-west of Cirith Imladris . Gloin saw them coming , he dismissed his man gathered around him once they reached the camp . Steaduil dismounted his horse Spirit and began moving towards Gloin . Gloin welcomed him and led him towards the campfire. They stood by the campfire and gloin took the map from steaduil . Gloin marked the location of the totem on steaduil's map then began explaining him about the details .
Steaduil went back to his fellows to explain what he has learned from Gloin :
" We know the location of the totem , but it is protected by Giants . We will need to distract the giants while one of us destroys it . How would you feel about this task , Tywerd ? "
Tywerd replied " It would be my pleasure . "
So they began riding to High Crag , where the totem is kept . High Crag lies between south-east and south bruinen source west and East . North of Giant Halls . From south two narrow passes are guarded by giants . In the middle there is a hill , where the totem can be found upon .
They came to High Crag . Tywerd began climbing upon the hill to destroy the totem that lies on top while others kept the giants distracted . The giants were trying to smash them with their huge feet but the fellowship always managed to evade them . Tywerd climbed upon the hill and drew his sword . He pierced the rune - stone and It shattered in to pieces . The pieces fell on the ground and turned in to ashes . And the ashes turned in to black smokes , the smokes flew upon the sword of Tywerd , Iarling . The Iarling was covered with black smokes , then a couple of seconds later the smokes disappeared and strange markings upon the blade appeared . Tywerd had no time to question what had just happened , so he sheathed his sword and turned around to climb down the hill . At that exact moment the totem exploded not in flames but in a wind pushing everything away . The wind pushed tywerd off the edge and he could luckily grab an edge down the hill with his hand . He then reached the edge with his other hand and began climbing down .
When he made it down , he saw his horse lying upon the field , he ran to his horse and sat by It's side . His horse Leaf was dead but It's eyes remained open . He closed It's eyes and pet It's head . He then got up and began sprinting towards Thurodras . Thurodras saw tywerd running at him , he stopped by him and got him on his horse .
The fellowship left for Northern High Pass while avoiding the giants attacks . It was a tough battle , but now all the totems were destroyed and Ashurz was weakened . It was now time to deal with Ashurz the Great Goblin .
Something stirs beneath the northern high pass , In grim tunnels deep beneath the snow , goblins tail and fires flow .
The fellowship went in to goblin - town through The Mountain's Throat . Upon their entrance they saw heads of men , elf and dwarves . Chopped off and placed upon the pikes . Ground , full of blood and air , full of toxic . Even the smell was enough to kill a men .
It was empty . There were no goblins , no laughters . At that exact moment when everyone was about to sheath their weapons , goblins began attacking them at all sides . They circled up at the middle and gave their backs on each other . They clashed with the goblins . Tywerd evaded a goblins attack and slashed it's throat with the dagger he hides under his left hand . Carlyndra sees the two goblins running at her , she shot an arrow and it goes through both their heads . Thurodras blocked a goblins attack and chopped It's head off .
After all the goblins are defeated , a big troll enters by smashing the door down to their right . It had a club at It's hand , covered by nails . The fellowship swiftly ran to different directions to lure the troll in the middle . When the troll is in middle , carlyndra sneaked up behind the troll and drew her daggers . She began climbing on the troll by stabbing It . When she climbed on It's shoulders she drew two arrows and shot It's head . She jumped down and troll fell down on It's face .
After the troll was dealt with the fellowship went up the stairs by their left while killing goblins on their way . When the reached the top , they saw a big double door . Steaduil came forward , sheathed his sword and pushed the doors with his both hands .
The door opened with a creepy voice , Steaduil began moving towards Ashurz sitting at his throne . As steaduil approached ashurz , Ashurz slowly got up from his throne clapping , he said :
" Congrulations .. " with a sarcastic voice and laughted at steaduil . He then continued " Thou have came all this way .. Just to die ? " . He had a big warg next to him as a pet . It was growling at tywerd , ready to bite his head off when his master gives It the command to do so .
Steaduil ran at Ashurz with a battle cry and It's pet ran at Tywerd while others were fighting off the goblins .
Steaduil was swiftly attacking Ashurz , but due to his small size Ashurz was always evading his attacks . After a lot of evading , steaduil managed to cut the left arm of Ashurz . Ashurz screamed In pain but he continued to fight .
While steaduil was fighting with Ashurz , Tywerd was trying to kill his pet warg . The Warg howled at tywerd and jumped on him . It was trying to rip his head off , tywerd grabbed his javelin and put it between It's teeth . When he had little strenth to hold the beast from killing him , Carlyndra saw tywerd lying on the floor , she shot an arrow to It's head . The beast did not die but It had no strength to move . Tywerd cleaned the sweat on his forehead with the back of his hand , and stabbed the warg from It's head with his javelin . He then grabbed his sword and chopped the head off the warg .
Ashurz heard the cry of his beloved pet , he looked at tywerd and said :
" You .. You have killed my pet . "
Ashurz gave out a big battle cry at Steaduil , his ugly and decayed teeth were all showing . He pierced steaduil's heart with his sword . Before steaduil fell on the ground , He stabbed Ashurz with his sword and they both fell on the ground .
Tywerd ran at Steaduil and sat by his side and held his head up .
Firfalas and Thurodras pushed the doors to keep the incoming goblins out while carlyndra kept shooting bows through the gap of the doors . After the doors were shot they barricaded it with axes and spears collected around the room . They ran at steaduil's side . By the time they were at his side , he was already gone . Nobody in that room was able to hold their tears . Their leader , friend , a member of their family was dead ..
Tywerd was holding a key in his hand . It was the key to the house . Thurodras asked to his brethern :
" What happens now .. Who shall lead us ? "
Tywerd squeezed the key in his hand and got up . He replied :
" I will .. "
Thurodras was surprised , for that it hadn't been too long since he joined . He asked :
" Do you believe you have what it takes to lead us ? "
Tywerd replied : " I do not need a Captain's Badge to lead a kin to Victory ... "
