Arunel and Daellas moved into the lone lands. Suddenly they heard screams for help. Sounded like a womans voice. The brothers ran towards a gap in the hills which leads to old ruins called Minas Eriol. The ran into a scene, two cloaked men were standing over a man who was down, and a woman looking desperate. The brothers analysed the situation and quickly grabbed their weapons.
Characters:
Evil men: Magaeus and Acaeleus
Men of Rohan: Arunel and Daellas
Others: Afried (wounded), accompanied by Saeldith
The encounter
Magaeus growled at the woman, thrusting a shield bash toward her direction in hopes to send her to the ground and knock the dagger out of her hand if fortune favored him.
Acaeleus would look up and see two men of the Mark walking over, blood-lust and adrenaline coursing through his system causes him to roar loudly, like an angered Lion of the Dunes themselves. "(H) More dogs for the slaughter!" he would roar.
Acaeleus is holding his right scimitar against the throat of Afried. His tone, his posture challenging the two men to make their move.
Magaeus glances toward Acaeleus and looks behind him at the two esquires, an eastern tone in his voice expressed hatred as he spoke in a language they could understand, "Ah, finally! A real challenge!" he hissed. Glancing toward Acaeleus, he nodded toward the two men of the Mark, "Time for the eye to feed on more hungry souls!" he roared, entering a defensive stance with his shield up his spear resting on the L curve of the plated wall.
Arunel whispers to his brother, "throw a spear in his chest"
Daellas holds his javelin, but notices the scimitar on the mans throat.
Arunel whispers to Daell," we need to be real quick".
Daellas holds his hand ready to throw at the black cloaked man, hesitating what to do.
Acaeleus would then step over the man, ignoring the woman as he would a fly. He holds both swords either side of his horso, his elbows bent. His knuckles clutching so hard on the scimitars his hands seem to be shaking. His look would be feral, primal. Unrelenting.
Daellas says, 'Stand down! Final warning!'
Afried sat up, calling in Rohirric to his horse "Daowin! to me!"
Saeldith gets to her knees immediately beside Afried.
Daellas sweat drips as he holds his javelin ready.
Afried glanced to Saeldith and then at the javelin, still in his leg. "You must pull it out."
Arunel looks at the two men, ready to charge.
Acaeleus sweeps his left leg behind his right, centering his balance onto the @#$%& of his feet. He allows a wicket smirk to take his harsh, Haradric features. The mask raising up his jawline with the sadistic expression. He barks out a condescending, roaring laugh. His eyes locked on the pair as he says to Magaeus. "(H) Which one is yours?"
Saeldith nods and pulls the javelin out of his leg, groaning of the pain in her shoulder.
Arunel says, 'go, leave them alone, or we will cut you down'
Daellas says, 'Brother, these men are not from around here'
Magaeus bashes the side of his shield with the tip of his spear taunting the men of the Mark. As night fell across the Lone Lands, something inspired Magaeus. It must have been the cool night air that gave life and energy. Shouting at Acaeleus, he ordered, "[H] Tortoise formation!" and went down to one knee, shield up.
Afried reached up to the reins as the horse arrived, hoisting himself over the animal in a slumeped posture, "Get on, me must leave, now!"
Acaeleus would seem to spring into action, his weight arching to the left as he sheathes his left scimitar and reaches forwards behind Magaeus, his sight above the rim of Magaeus's head and shield, he would grasp a Javellin from Magaeus's pack and make himself ready
Arunel shouts to Afried and the woman, 'GO RUN! we will defend you!'
Daellas says, 'Shields up brother!'
Arunel points his sword at the two men
Afried gave a weak nod, calling in rohirric "You have my debt, brother."
Saeldith gets on his horse somehow and embraces his hips with the last power she can afford.
Daellas steps before his brother shield high dropping his javelin to the ground and quickly taking his spear
Acaeleus would seem to grin, muttering to Magaeus in a cool, calculating tone. "It seems these two have the same idea..." He cracks a smirk. "(H) I hope they are ready.."
Acaeleus would crook his right arm out, his elbow bent. Pivotting his weight forwards, he would arch all of his momentum towards the throw of the Javellin as he aims a throw towards the Man's shield, testing its integrity.
Arunel pats his brother on the shoulder and whispers..Ready?
Daellas nods quickly.
The battle begins (based on /roll outcomes)
Magaeus charged at the same time Acaeleus tossed a javelin in a crouched position, dipping his shoulder down to thrust his shield upward at Daellas, hoping to skim his shield upward. If he was successful, he'd thrust his spear on the underside, attempting to pierce Daellas's midsection.
Daellas maintains his shield up and quickly steps aside for Arunel to storm in.
Acaeleus would swerve to the left as Magaeus goes for the blunt approach. His left scimitar being drawn from his left scabbard, he would attempt to bring both blades Horizontally across, in an attempt to scythe in on Arunel, intercepting his attack on Magaeus.
Daellas thrusts his spear forward to Ascaleus towards his chest.
Acaeleus 's blades would seem to have been blocked by the shield of Daellas both blades taken wide from his form by the recoil of the blow. The strike of Daelias pierces his left shoulder, Acaeleus having lowered his weight into the attack. Acaeleus's eyes go wide in pain as he roars in agony, attempting to bring his right hand up to grip the spear, he would attempt to disarm Daellas of his spear.
Arunel thrust his sword towards Magaeus his shoulder with a quick move.
Magaeus grimaces as the man's sword chucked his right shoudler, getting passed his shield somehow, but his chainmail held strong, but would not for long if he took more hits. He took the opportunity now that he was close to thrust his shield toward Arunel, attempting to knock him off his feet. If he was successful, Magaeus would thrust his spear into the ground, attempting to pierce Arunel in his right pectoral muscle where the armor appeared weak. (If he's not successful with the shield bash void the spear thrust))
Arunel tried to evade the shield bash but failed and knocked him to the ground.
Magaeus followed up his shield bash with a spear thrust into the ground, attempting to pierce Arunel's right pectoral muscle (His chest).
Arunel sees the spear coming to his chest, rolls to the side and stands up. Arunel holds his sword above his head and swings it at the mans head.
Daellas steps back not allowing to be disarmed and runs in with a battle cry thrusting his spear in anger towards Acaeleus.
Acaeleus would attempt to launch himself forwards, his legs shakily launching him, both scimitars extended towards Daellas as he attempts to stab him in the right leg.
Acaeleus 's attacks are foiled yet again by the Rohirrim, both blades taken away with a deft sweep of his shield, As Daellas attacks Acaeleus, it foils Acaeleus's defences and pierces his left arm, he bites his teeth so hard his eyes turn bloodshot. In desperation, he would attempt to disarm Daellas once again of his spear, his right hand clenched around the haft of it, pulling with force
Daellas kicks the man to loosen the grip on his spear, Dael steps to the side and launches forward with his spear again aiming for his torso.
Magaeus ducks at Arunels attack and attempts to counter with a kick to his chest to knock him back toward the ground. Noticing his comrade in trouble, if he was successful, he'd dash at Daellas and attempt to use his momentum combined with a shield bash to knock him to the ground as well.
Arunel steps quick back avoiding the kick, and steps forward to strike once mora at the mans shoulder.
Magaeus grimaces once again as the man's sword makes contact with Magaeus's armored shoulder. The chainmail absorbed most of the blow, but the attack seemed stronger than Magaeus could have hoped for, and the blade cut through the chained metal, leaving a small gash into Magaeus's shoulder. With blood now dripping from his shoulder, Magaeus's pupils dialated with hated, seeking to +return to the favor. With a combinated strike, he thrusted both spear and shield toward Arunel, his spear attempting to pierce him through the chest, "[H] For the Eastern Lands!!!"
Arunel steps to the side clashes his sword against his spear leaving him open for an attack, Arunel now swings his sword to the left trying to cut Magaeus his chest open.
Acaeleus didnt seem to learn the first time, the second attempt failing just as spectacularly. Daellas's skewering of his arm causes Acaeleus to sink to his knees in agony, the attempted disarm ending up with Daellas just jarring his left bicep.
Acaeleus 's attempted parry failed bloody hard yet again, his eyes rolling up into his sockets with pain, as the mans spear pierces his torso, luckily his rib-cage saved Acaeleus's from being skewered like a pig. Acaeleus attempts one final, desperate attack. Attempting to cut the mans legs out from underneath him, attempting to knock the man away from him. A red haze covering his vision.
Acaeleus seemed to not put enough force into the blow, his strength failing him as the red-haze turns into a black mask... Unconsciousness takes Acaeleus as he slumps too the floor. (Out of Battle)
Magaeus managed to bring his shield down JUST in time to block Arunels attack. He noticed his comrade in trouble, and with one, swift, clean motion, he spinned out of the attack and found his way behind Daellas, dropping his spear in mid spin. Withdrawing his sword, he attempted to run his sword clean through the warrior's lower back.
Arunel cant believe how quick the man moves turns to battle and charges in.
Daellas noticed the man behind him spins around and just manages to block his attack with his shield, his spear thrusts over his shield towards Magaeus.
Arunel thusts his sword to his shoulder again trying to disarm him.
Magaeus | Arunel's attack made contact with Magaeus's other shoulder that held his shield, but his chainmail resisted the damage (Due to the 1 roll difference) Shrugging it off, Magaeus prepared himself for Daellas's attack, attempting to bend backwards and evade it.
Magaeus ducked his chest backward, avoiding Daellas's thrust like the man in the Matrix (;P). Dropping to one knee, he reared his sword around and swiped from the left to the right at both warrior's legs, attempting to cut their knees.
Arunel quickly jumps in the air avoiding his sword atack, with both feet on the ground again Arunel turns his sword around with the point facing the kneeled man and thrust it down.
Daellas gets hit in the leg, biting the pain and falls backward, while he falls he managed to regain balance by plunging the spears back on the ground. He pushes of launching himself towards his attacker for a shield bash.
Magaeus blocks Arunel's attack, but using his shield left him open for Daellas. The shield collided with Magaeus and the eastern hoplite was sent to the ground. However, he was not out. Rolling backwards with the hit, he came to a knee again. Now that he had distance, he sheathed his shield quickly to release a javelin toward Daellas's right shoudler, attempting to render his wielding arm useless. The javelin flew straight and true, and while doing so, Magaeus withdrew his sword once again, entering a defensive stance.
Daellas stumbled forward and the javelin plunged in his shoulder, he screamed as this was the same shoulder that had the orc arrow in it before. Adrenaline surges and stumbles forward with his spear.
Arunel sees the spear piecing his brother, completly out of his mind and full of rage he decidce to throw his sword as hard as he can at the man.
Magaeus blocks the thrown sword, the blade richochetting off of his shield and flying further south, out of Arunel's reach Magaeus grinned under his hood now that Arunel had lost his sword, and he eyes Daellas, ready to defend against the charging man.
Daellas falls to his knees while taking out the javelin out off his shoulder, pain surged and he screamed, echoing the valley. He take the javelin to his good hand and throws it back towards Magaeus.
Magaeus 's shield has flung to the side as it blocked Arunel's thrown sword, leaving an opening that Daellas clearly took advantage of. The javelin stuck into the hard coated leather of Magaeus's hauberk, but the chainmail underneath protected puncture. Still, it left a nasty bruise on his chest and knocked the wind out of him. Magaeus was stunned for a turn.
Magaeus attempted to recover and raised his shield.
Arunel quickly grabs his woodcutting axe from his backpack and charges at the man hoping to cut his blooded shoulder to bits.
Daellas tries to stand up holding his spear and stumbles towards Magaeus as well, no time for an attack this turn.
Magaeus grimaces as the axe skids his shield and skins his already wounded shoulder, cutting another layer of flesh off. Magaeus was growing weaker, but seeing his downed ally gave him strength. With a loud roar, much louder than the rohirrim's, his voice echoed throughout the valley, and he bursted out from his knelt position, rolling forward. As he came to his feet, he spinned around+attempting to swipe his sword across Arunel's backside.
Arunel blocks a part of the attack but the sword hits his back, but his chainmal gives him the proper protection.
Arunel with his last rage arunel turns around swinging his rather small axe towards mags chest
Magaeus ducks at the attack, attempting to perform a counter and run his blade straight up through Arunel's abdomen.
Daellas tries to block the pain in his leg, holding the spear with two hands and thrusting hard to the mag's side.
Arunel with a move never he thought he could manage, he smashes his arm against the flat side of the swords leaving him open.
Acaeleus would attempt to see to the wounds on his chest, his right hand reaching up with a strip of bandage, he kept in a pouch underneath his cloak. He clenches his teeth together in the agony and sees to himself. Unable to do anything else.
Magaeus is pierced by Daellas's spear, the metal running into his right side but not deep. Still, it was enough for Magaeus to stumble backward, pulling his sword from Arunel's grasp. He fell to one knee, holding his wound to slowen the bleeding, and looked up at his foes, gritting his teeth. (Out of battle)
The battle ends.
Arunel shouts at the man: DO YOU YIELD?
Magaeus forms a wad of spit in his mouth mixed with blood and plehgm, spitting toward the ground at Arunels feet, "Never." he hissed.
Daellas breaths heavy holding his bloody spear towards the hooded man.
Acaeleus would tilt his head to the right, the Haradric mans eyes telling Magaeus he is ready for death. He seems to have an odd sense of peace to him, Magaeus hasnt seen before. He attempts to sit up, coursing agony to rip through his form. Acaeleus fails spectacularly, the agony too much, he falls backwards and takes deep breathes
Daellas says, 'Fool!'
Daellas says, 'brother leave them'
Daellas says, 'we saved the others...'
Daellas says, 'Back off slowly..'
Arunel looks full of hate at the two man and steps slowly backwards.
Arunel grabs his sword from the dirt.
Daellas stumbles backward.
Magaeus was in no condition to continue combat. He made no move to toss a javelin or engage the foes that bested him any further. He let them go.
Acaeleus would lay back, panting. The cold night upon the deserts of the lone lands chilling him somewhat, he crosses his arms over his chest and takes deep breathes. Having sealed the wounds in the best of his weakened state, he will see what will happen... Wherever he will live to the next morning, he cracks a wry, crooked grin and seems to laugh, a loud, long, harsh, condescending
Arunel says, 'come i need to get you out of here, to the inn'
Special thanks to Acaeleus and Magaeus. May the dice be in your favour next time. ;)
