*Kaiju's thoughts to herself, as she has been with the mead company*
It has taken a lot for me to trust these strange southerners.. Perhaps it was only circumstantial, but I think their presence was, for the most part, meant to be.. Something is telling me I am meant to be around them.. I am.. Perhaps they would perish without my aid.. They speak of this turtle, of which they wish to see.. I know not was a turtle is, but they said it is giant, and has a shield upon it's back, only it grows up with a shield.. They also say it lives in the sea, and is very rare..
. . .
I was certainly right to think they'd perish, especially heading northward.. Threland, was that man's name? Well.. I should just call him idiot, for shouting 'Avalance' in the middle of a rift.. That shall be his nickname, now..
. . .
The southerners have an odd game they play.. This, 'Truth or dare' they call it. This fellow Wil, the half-man, Tollomac, this cook.. I get the woman Owena and Elvina confused.. By their customs, they toss this thing in the air and catch it, and it decides your fate.. Be it invading your privacy, or making you humiliate yourself.. Honestly, I do not like this game too much..
. . .
Mestari Alfknutr wishes to know more of my customs.. I think I can trust them not to tear apart ancient places of meditation and worship, with more silly games..
. . .
At least Alfknutr has gained from this trip to the Oceanic Overlook.. None of the others seemed to appreciate as mor than a common camp ground.. Oh well.. What can I really expect?.. Raithulu spoke to me from beyond.. He wants me to continue south with these foreigners, to see what he did nt get the chance to..
. . .
I think I will take these men hunting...
. . .
Never again will I take southerners hunting... Ever..
. . .
We have located this turtle, they speak of.. They are now calling it a 'ship'.. Their language, I suppose, is not fully known to me.. It took some courage, but I searched through this wooden contraption and found what could be an interesting thing to one of these southerners, some sort of.. Surprisingly well kept sword, like I have seen the violent red wearing invaders wield, only lighter, and more shiny.. The others claim this 'ship' is haunted.. They clearly do not have the same tethers to the dead as my people.. Haunted means only that the dead live there.. Not that they are malicious.
. . .
These men of the south no longer wish to remain here.. The journey south takes route, and I with them.. I take with me the very braclet Raithulu wore, the one he was never without.. It has the largest wolf tooth on it, any of us have ever seen upon it..
. . .
I don't think I have seen this much.. Green.. Before. Not like the green lights above the bay, but in plants, on the ground, and across the branches of these southern trees. The spirits do not shine above these lands, and that frightens me, not having my ancestors look after me like they usually do. Some of the others, they find this still cold, or, 'nippy'.. Personally, I am feeling as though I am constantly standing /just/ a little too close to a fire..
. . .
One of their company has turned up.. Dead.. The only one of which that has come from my home-land.. Is this an omen..? Or just coincidence..? At least he has been properly sent to the other side. Though building a pyre, is no easy task..
. . .
I am afraid.. Afraid of what I will see in the south.. It is all, so new to me.. This massive bridge over this even larger river.. I am afraid to fall in. I cannot swim, and it would certainly be the death of me.. Merys has talked me into bathing in the river. I think she thinks I smelled bad. Looking at myself now, I think I have always had a layer of filth on me.. My skin is lighter, almost reflective.. And so is my hair.. I think that the more time I spend in the sun, the lighter my hair gets.. What if it turns white?
