This is just a small phase in a much larger story.
The morning had come and several hours had past since the awakening of the company. However, Alfknutr or 'Knot' was fast asleep. Quarrels had begun to break out among the company and folk began to grow impatient. Redwick tried to calm it but it had proved ill, for he had not handled it well, but alas for his attentions were good.
He was weary and had decided to rest against a ruin-fragment which near which the company had set camp nigh to. And soon the quarreling began once more and Redwick found not the moment of peace he sought. So he decided to walk off, he took naught but his bow and quiver as he began to tread upon the road back the way they had came. His eyes were drawn to a large hill known as Weathertop or as Amon Sul. The ruins drew his gaze for he was curious and soon he arrived at the foot Weathertop and began to climb tread the winding path. At length he arrived among the ruins at the very top and he gazed about it with awe. Soon his gaze was taken to the east, from atop the hill he could see the road which went that way and he knew that is whither the task of his company lied. He stayed and gazed upon the road till soon he began to speak to himself.
"I do not even see mountains, it is dark..."
"and I had not come here to harken to all the quarreling..."
"I begin to wish Knot had not brought the others along."
"...They are folly, but perhaps we all are."
"....We know not what we shall find upon our quest, we know not if it shall come at the cost of our lives. We tread blind upon paths we have never seen before, most of us at least..."
At that moment a smile began to creep up on his face and he could not cease it from growing bright and so his lips continued to move and his tongue continued to wiggle as he spoke.
"As Knot has always said, there is fortune. Fortune that we have yet to see upon these roads, not in coin or mead or glory, but the fortune of companionship."
He stayed calmly and peered out towards the horizon. His thoughts bloomed confidence within him and he had realized how late it has become. It was Dusk.
"I should return ere the sunsets."
And so Redwick went down from Weathertop and went in search of his companions...
