A tiresome search

Dear diary,

How hard can it be to find a good location for a tavern, you could ask. Well very hard I found last few days!  I'm down to three places from my long long list, but none of them look very tempting.

There is a little village with a perfectly looking hobbit-hole but the neighbors seem to be quite boring there. Another village looks very joyful and I think they might welcome a tavern, but well... the best places there are taken. Then there is my last option... A really nice looking area directly behind the horse track. But of course there is a downside... The village is almost deserted. Probably all hobbits left when the big folk started to visit the horse-races and trade for pipe-weed at the close by farms.

Well to be totally honest, if I had not grown up in a wagon at Waymeet, if dad had not traded with Bree, if I had not done the housekeeping for the Elven Lady and not lived in the Prancing Pony for almost a year... then I would have left my house there too! No decent hobbit would like to live so close to strangers. But if I did learn something over the last few years, then it is that there are more adventurous hobbits around then anyone likes to admit. Yes even to themselves!

Maybe I should have a second look at the place...
