Hey Hoe Pull the Elven Tow (A tune from Edhellond)

A crystal clear day to us the wind had led
Our bow cut through the water - we sailed ahead
As upon the horizon emerged a hole - black with dread
A swear upon Ossë's storming hair,
It seems to me like something gathers there!

Now all you Elves, do not cease!
Else it takes the ship apart - piece for piece!

The captain navigated but for the haven it is too far
And he decides to hold the curse to meet it straight on par.
Where thunder strikes the clouds, rain hits us with all its might,
And far and wide is yet no land in sight...

That brings me ... Hey Hoe pull the tow, pull the tow the wind will blow,
Hey ja Hoe, come on pull the Elven Tow!
Hey Hoe pull the tow, pull the tow the wind will blow,
Hey ja Hoe, come on pull the Elven Tow!

Ear-deafening is the noise that is now here revealed,
A shrill scream and thousand deep groans as if the ship would yield.
From the icy-cold, wet waterwall we take a hundred hits
And strikes the planks and the holt entirely to bits.

With the first light at dawn, we must have awoken in the bight
Onboard it was calm and still - over was finally this night
Blinking we looked around and into Arien's light
As from the lookout came the shout: Land in sight!

Hey Hoe pull the tow, pull the tow the wind will blow,
Hey ja Hoe, come on pull the Elven Tow!
Hey Hoe pull the tow, pull the tow the wind will blow,
Hey ja Hoe, come on pull the Elven Tow!
