Since her time with the hobbits ended, Ashenne tried living a life free of crime. She ended up hungry and homeless in Beggar's Alley.
A man named Michael Blackbent approached Ashenne. He offered her a deal, that they would rob people around Bree and split the earnings for an indeterminate amount of time.
Ashenne agreed but, after a few, failed robbery attempts, she found that it became harder and harder to steal from people. Her time in the Shire, her time with Bria, Frendo, and the good people at the Bannockbury Hall Mathom Society had given her conscience a louder voice than it had ever had in her nineteen years of life.
Ashenne tried to break her arrangement with Blackbent, refusing to steal any longer. Upset due to wanting to create a new group of brigands and feeling owed the share the promised, Blackbent beat Niashe and left her with a black eye and missing tooth.
