The year twentyeight since my coming to Carn Dûm.
September the third, Evening. Comb and wettle inn.
I have desited to rest here for a couple of hours. I have been on the move for almost three days without sleep and i feel my old bones screaming of tiredness. Two days ago I was called by the lady to consult the next steps of our plan. I arrived at the mansion and was met by the scene of the lady punishing young Cae for releasing that fool Damondir and that cursed she-elf whose name i seem to have forgotten. They had been tortured for many hours and the lass had been sent to drown them in the river. Appearently, she did not.
It turned out Cae had pretended to help them on her own behalf, to make them trust her. She is very fond of the lady and she thought that if she was accepted into their ranks she might be able to do what she´s best at - Clever girl! There was one flaw in her plan though - She had forgot to tell the mistress. I watched as Cae´s face was burned by the dark flames of the lady and it took some time before the misunderstanding could be sorted out.
A plan was scetched out and I played my part. Wearing my ceremonial garments (As I usually never do in Bree) I aproched Damondir, the elf and some man who I know Falldraf have had some trouble with. A minor batle took place, and without much blood had been spilled I fled to bide my time. I joined up with Khalithia (Just another amazon in the service of the lady..) and together we ventured deep into the marshes east of the town. There, in an old ruin, Cae was laid to rest upon a table of stone. By her side stood the man from earlier (whose name is Garethred) and the other two. I weaved my webs of despair around them, and when the night of Melko was as dark as it ever would be I stepped out of the shadows. Damondir and the she-elf was allready poisoned by my arts and saw instead of me a great beast, a demon, aproach them. They fought bravely, but as there is no victory over your own fears; they were both defeated and fell screaming to the ground. When this happend Garethred turned around, and his arnour gleamed in the moonlight. I attacked him furiously, and I would surely have manage to kill him if it were not for the sun rising in the east. I felt my powers weaken, and my influence over the Edain´s mind withered. Defeated I stumbled back into the fading shadows, and aided by Khalithia, I managed to escape.
I was defeated, but it was all acording to plan. Cae´s cleverness knows no boundries..
